Can I have your broken cymbals? Because my parents doesn't support my drumming they're against my drumming and they dont allow me to buy cymbals and I want to buy but... I dont have any money cuz its quarantine No school No Allowance you know... Its hard

K Dark Thin crashes are the best crashes! If my 19" broke I'd be devastated.
I havn't broken a cymbal in over 10 yrs. Still use the same sabian cymbals...I hit very hard too. I have watched your playing and it's weird that your cymbals are breaking so often. Maybe they are just thin. hmmm love your stuff man!

You didn't mention it, but that remo Hihat clutch is the best one I have ever used. Much better than the screw on ones.

Broken cymbals dont look too bad - send them to cymbalrepairsandmods? Plus you get a hilarious video out of it. He fixes a lot of keyholes and simple cracks.

Im asking this because I have a sensitone snare and has that same badge but downgraded with basic hoops and lugs, but I could upgraded mine to have a greater sound as yours

Who doesn't like Roc n Socs? Those are super comfy.
No one is screaming at you! These things happen! Also - check out the Guitar Center warranty on your cymbals - they'll replace them for free after your buy that first warranty... no joke!

actually leaving your cymbal to move freely has a higher change of getting keyholes... reason is simple physics... when the cymbal moves too much the only thing that is stopping it is the center hole

Your technique and chops are amazing David. But if your hitting that hard and breaking sticks, bass drum heads & cymbals that often you could end up with early onset arthritis like Neil Peart did, for example. Late fifties early 60's is a long way off, but your too good to not be playing into your 70's and 80's. Look at Roy Haines playing into his 90's.

David… I think you are brilliant, funny and most important of all super humble. I have to say though that if you’re breaking cymbals, you’re just hitting way too hard. You’re only going to get so much “quality” sound out of a cymbal and anything beyond that is just abuse, a bit too much bravado and showmanship. I know this makes me sound like an old fart and maybe not so hip, but as I’ve gotten older it has become even more obvious to me. Should a pianist beat the crap out of his beautiful Steinway piano? Bro, just food for thought. You keep doing what you’re doing and I wish you the best of luck in your career. May God bless you and keep you well and healthy.
