I was just thinking the same. I can't believe she gave him a second chance. She could have dated any other man, but instead she went back to her cheating husband. If I was her, I would have immediately gotten a divorce & start working on myself in order to not be used & cheated again.

If you're not happy with the person you're with, you should definitely leave them, or try your best to make it work...but cheating is never acceptable, no matter what the circumstances are! I don't believe that if someone is unfaithful, they'll necessarily do it again. Many times, yes. But not always. People are only human & make mistakes. It's up to you to decide whether to forgive someone. But forgiving & forgetting are two very different things. It may be impossible to stay with someone who has cheated, because not only are you stuck with feeling jealousy & betrayal, but there's also that fear of it happening again down the road. If the relationship is healthy emotionally and mentally, otherwise its not worth it. My father gave my abusive birth-mother a second chance, but it didn't end very well.
My friend gave her boyfriend a second chance because he admitted it without even considering to lie to her friend and it's still working today because its a healthy partnership where it doesn't involve verbal/emotional abuse or manipulation.

Well, it may be unheard of by some people, but it's more common than you think, though! But every relationship is different; I don't judge them unless any form of abuse is involved.
I have a large, large family tree, so I hear about quite a few things from the ones around Scotland, UK, USA, and Québèc, thus it must be why it's feels common for me.
As long as no toxicity is involved, we should always support another's relationship when they are truly willing to put 100/100 effort into it. 💙☺️

My husband and my best friend had an affair. It started just like this story. I was battling depression and he turned to her support then it spiraled out of control. I forgave my husband and we are still working on putting the pieces back.
Gaslighting is bad. But the concept if cheating should not even exist as love is about happiness not just sex, sex is just an activity that gives your pleasure. But yes if you love someone then without any feelings of obligation and only because you want to ,you’ll keep your partner satisfied in every way( also sexually satisfied). But if you feel happier with another person then you should be with that person and be honest about it with your partner, love isn’t about obligation it’s about happiness.

Cheating is very wrong but I don't believe in the "once a cheater, always a cheater" narrative because people can and do learn from their mistakes and poor choice, and they grow.
One should always forgive no matter what, and I believe in second chances.
What this lady did by taking him back was right and noble and he has a responsibility to prove that he's changed.
If he does it again or is a serial cheater then divorce him and never look back... Always give a second chance but never a third.
As for the other woman or man (whether it's someone close or a stranger) it would be wise to permanently cut any and all ties with this person and never look back...Ever!
