    What i love about Dr Michael Klaper, is that even though fasting is the thing that he promotes a lot and it’s part of his business. He doesn’t BS people if he doesn’t have the answer, he just simply says “We don’t have the science in that area yet.” While a lot of doctors just tell lies and make stuff up to sell the idea that they wanna sell you...He’s not like that.

    I do time-restricted eating every day (4 - 5 hr window) but have never tried extended fasting for more than a day. I'm interested in longer fasts but don't really feel I need medical supervision. I'm already healthy on a whole-food mostly plant-based diet, and have no issues with practicing time-restricted eating. Thanks for all the helpful info.

    I'm vegan, WFPB. I follow the latest trend in fasting information. So far I'm getting that fasting should be medically supervised. Dr. Klaper does this and then moves the patient to WFPB. I'm wondering that once switched to WFPB if fasting is beneficial---since vegan eating can be a robust effort to get enough calories. I've had a natural fasting state after going through a surgery--when I wasn't hungry. My instinct is that this state is a restorative (re-set) that the body is using for healing.

    Fasting is great! My girlfriend and I are currently 2 weeks into a 30 day Juice fast/cleanse/detox. It's my first time, my gf's 2nd time.
    The benefits so far are:
    - Better hair, skin, purer eyes.
    - Better brain-chemistry (more emotionally stable, less impulsive, more patient).
    - Way less brainfog.
    - Less pain in joints, better recovery from exercise (Greatly reduces inflammation!)
    - Digestive track functions much better (nutritional uptake increases).
    Whether you're healthy or sick, fasting works wonders in repairing your cells and restoring them back to optimal condition.

      Noah Dancaster it’s difficult to argue with your results, however I agree with one of the other comments that true fasting is an absence of calories both solid food and liquid, so technically you’re not in a true fast as long as you’re consuming calories. You are actually in a limited calorie liquid fast that definitely has some benefits but not as much as a pure water fast no calories. I would predict that all of your improve symptoms would be even greater with a true water fast for 5 to 7 days or longer. I did a 24 day water fast and lost 26 pounds with no exercise other than light walking. With a variety of the ketogenic diet, intermittent fasting, extending fast I’ve lost a total of 50 pounds and kept it off. It’s also good to be in a ketogenic diet prior to intermittent fasting and intermittent fasting prior to extended fasting that way you become “fat adapted” which means you easily burn body fat.

    • @JohnBellRealtor
      @JohnBellRealtor 4 года назад

      asdf asdf Yes, technically that’s true of both water fasting and dry fasting Since there are 0 cal involved, and by saying that, as I’ve become very familiar with all of the health aspects that happen with fasting but the body has a way of healing itself plus the added benefit of spiking human growth hormone and stem cell growth within the body for additional rejuvenation. Intermittent fasting also has huge benefits and to some degree the benefits mentioned above. But if you want to turn back time and really completely reset your hormones and your health the best way to do it is water fasting, I hope this helps.

    For whatever it's worth, Will Bulsiewicz (gastroenterologist, author) doesn't recommend ever fasting beyond 24 hours. I recall that he's expressed specific concerns about potential negative consequences and thinks we need much more research before recommending a lengthier fasting period for most people.

    Dr. Klapper I really like your video but some of the questions regarding rejuvenation and taking wrinkles away and things like that can be achieved with Autophagy and even though studies are limited at this point, the 2016 Nobel prize winner Dr Yoshinori Ohsumi regarding the mechanisms of Autophagy. There are many RUclips videos on the subject and it’s our bodies mechanism to clean and eat all the dead cells that are in our body and release them in the bile. In addition, I believe for my own personal results that the dead skin cells do get flushed away in the bile and the skin gets tight and rejuvenated with fasting induced Autophagy, whereas with a calorie restricted diet it would not etc. And as you mentioned human growth hormone and stem cell growth with stem cells in the G.I. tract especially stimulate the rejuvenation after 24 hours of fasting the Autophagy will peak at about 5 days of water fasting and will start to decline after about 7 to 10 days of water fasting.

    What a nice man this doctor. He obviously loves helping people. I can’t help but think how much more effective he would be as a doctor if he wasn’t stuck in his dogmatic vegan beliefs. Many people have used raw goats milk to effectively heal their Crohn’s disease. Also recently there has been so many people curing many autoimmune diseases by going on a meat based carnivore diet that excludes all plant foods. Plant foods contain some phytochemicals that are toxic The plants use these chemicals for their protection. Some people can not tolerate them especially when they have autoimmune disease. I personally tried vegan, raw vegan and vegetarian. I never saw the results I experienced when I ate a healthy ketogenic diet. 1 month on keto and I experienced noticeable improvement in my health and my psoriasis improved. It’s actually disappeared in some spots. I’ve also recently been eating carnivore and have seen more improvements. I suspect it might eventually disappear completely as I continue to eat primarily meat and fat. I suspect that it’s helping my gut heal and this is healing my immune system.

    I tthink a nutritious soup in a NInja blender is an easy and a i good alternative to water fasting. Nutrition is incredibly important before and after short periods of fasting. Extended fasting is very difficult on the system and theres no guaruntee of the reset that will occur as a result. It could very well accelerate cancer growth. Not a doctor, a friendly warning.

Mostly fruits, berries, nuts, seeds and plenty of greens. Organic everything. Pasture raised eggs, grass finished beef, wild caught fish, all in moderation. Stick to this and you’ll be fine.
