All I can say right now is thank you, thank you, and thank you. As much as you have hyped gruv I’ve never ordered from them until now. With the 20 percent deal I got the Rocky and Jaws steelbooks for 24 dollars each and the mask blu ray for 5 bucks.🎉🎉🎉🎉 Thank you again for ALL of your news and info. Also congrats on the turnaround on your job.
I searched far and wide for the Laserdisc of John Wayne's The Alamo, the one with the additional 9 minutes of footage. I have yet to play it since I don't have a Laserdisc player. I am still looking for a good player. The Blu-Ray and DVDs are only the Theatrical Cut of the movie. The only other way to see the 9 minutes is on VHS.
I'm still waiting on my Kino sale package to ship. I ordered 23 blu rays and 4ks. Im also waiting on my Vinegar Syndrome package from this latest sale but it had 40 blu rays and 4ks in that one so I will be waiting awhile.
Thanks to you I ordered a couple movies from Kino and they came in yesterday. Fistful of dynamite and ace high. Almost forgot, also studio 54, couldn’t pass it up for 6$. First time ordering from them, and got on sale when your video came up about 10 days ago. I haven’t seen ace high since I lived in Sicily 33 years ago. Thanks for the information you bring about physical media. Since I started watching your vids about 3 months ago, I’m buying way too much movies, good/bad . Quality is better than streaming.
I grabbed High Noon too. Hadn't opened it yet. Wow that artwork looks sweet. Look forward to that one. I might have to get Changing Lanes and The Manchurian Candidate. From what I remember I liked The Manchurian Candidate more. I might have to grab A Fistful of Dollars. Wasn't familiar with it so didn't know it was a Sergio Leone film. Nice pickups and enjoyed hearing your thoughts.
High Noon is excellent, IMO. Great cast as well. Fun fact, John Wayne hated the movie, as he saw it as a referendum on the House UnAmerican Activities committee. I keep intending to get Gunfight At the OK Corral. Maybe later this month. Waiting on my Criterion picks too right now. I'm getting Shaft with Richard Roundtree, To Die For and Sisters. I've seen all three before and enjoyed them, so looking forward to adding them to the collection. My own Kino pickups were The Bedroom Window, Soldier Blue, Joan of Arc with Ingrid Bergman and A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum.
I picked up six titles on Blu-ray, fistful of dynamite, two days in the valley, masquerade, Leviathan, north Dallas 40, and Joe Kidd. All of them came with slipcovers except for masquerade and two days in the valley.
My package from Kino Lorber’s sale also arrived today. -Tropic Thunder 4K (slipcover) -A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night -Nosferatu -Metropolis -Sex Madness Revealed
That happens alot, with the discs popping out and its alittle upsetting to me because most of the stuff i buy is 4k and most of the time its above 35 -40 bucks with a slipcover and we get these cheap cases. The only company that gives you great cases is arrow...their cases are almost bulletproof lol
A Fistful of Dynamite is a 2k restoration from around 2009 or so. Hopefully some day they'll do a new restoration and also fix the issues with the soundtrack. It's not a spaghetti western. It is a pretty good film though. Not Once Upon a Time in the West good, but still worth seeing.
It is a spaghetti western it's a subgenre of the spaghetti western know as the zapata western with deals with political themes such as the Mexican revolution which this one does.
The only sites with easy navigation are diabolik and orbit and grindhouse and atomicdvd. Arrow sucks. Zavvi sucks. Walmart sucks. Target sucks. Amazon sucks. Kino sucks. Scream Factory sucks. Everywhere sucks.
Do you think we will be getting a 30th anniversary of Jim Carreys big three? The Mask, Dumb and Dumber, and Ace Ventura? Such a disappointment to be honest.
Ok Ken. Im back. I will admit i was totally butt-hurt by your Natural Born Killers Review a ways back. I had to tune out. But i had to remember its a free country, and not everyone had my 1990s experience with that movie in the mind bending way i did, and still do LOL. Just try and remember i never said anything mean… i just had to tune out… but Twister brought me back. I heard several reviews on this current 4K release, but i needed to hear your thoughts. Cheers.
Fistful of Dynamite is really good you can't go wrong with any Leone flick

Great purchases. I also took advantage of the sale and finally will have Night Gallery S1-3 on Blu-ray
Ken isn’t beating the illiteracy allegations after Rod Steiger 🤣🤣 (I love you Ken it’s just jokes)

Ken joined Alien 3 cast! 😂
I like that High Noon’s slipcover art is different from either of the art on the sleeve.

Wanted to get several but could only afford 2 at this time. So ordered Cujo and Leviathan. May order more before end of sale.
Changing lanes 🎬👍👍

Sick haul!
I got 13 blu rays in the sale but no 4K. Guess I'm gonna have to put in another order!

Grace Kelly, my first crush!
I just got Twister 4k!
3-4 weeks...still faster than Shout Factory during Shocktober sale.
Changing Lanes was a blind buy for me, it was ok. I recommend watching before buying.
Does gruv do good packaging for steelbooks
Oscar winner Rod Steiger's last name rhymes with tiger, not burger.
Still waiting on my kino sale order. I’m guessing because I had a preorder in there it’ll ship once that’s released.

So, is Laserdisc an analog connection?
Why are the sites with the best deals the hardest to navigate? Im looking at you kino and Hamilton books.

Ken you need to open a video store
Do you think we will be getting a 30th anniversary of Jim Carreys big three? The Mask, Dumb and Dumber, and Ace Ventura? Such a disappointment to be honest.
throw in Changing Lanes is a fun movie. Affleck is a clown

@@maxpower78-15 Good to have you back Max. Remember, they’re only opinions. I mean no harm or disrespect.
I Still Believe is true story based on Christian artist Jeremy Camp. I have this but have not watched it yet.
