To be fair the handling issues on the 911, and other cars of this type was the high-pivot swing- axles, something Mercedes Benz largely addressed with their low-pivot arrangement. Other IRS types also had flaws, though not so much as the cheap, but risky swing-axle. The DeDion tube was brilliant.
