      As soon as it served the interest of their donors. Just like they suddenly stopped caring about the deficit when it was being used to give their donors $2tn in tax cuts but its an absolute disaster if even $2bn is added to the deficit to fund education or healthcare that would help the working class.

    • @Syclone0044
      @Syclone0044 4 года назад +1

      I just looked up “right to work” as it seemed like a curious phrase, and it turns out it’s specifically the right to not have to still pay union fees even if you choose not to join one. Well, who can possibly disagree with that?! Their paycheck should be robbed by a group they don’t participate in?

    • @JaneDoe-im6fe
      @JaneDoe-im6fe 4 года назад +9

      @@Syclone0044 the issue is if there is a union they still have to defend employees who don’t pay dues. Which means the employee gets all the benefits, but don’t have to contribute anything. This leads to less people supporting the union, but the union still has to spend the same amount of money supporting all the workers. Eventually the union can’t afford to defend anyone, and that means no employee will be protected by a union. It’s why it’s a union busting technique.

    • @UnderMyCrowdedUmbrella

      @@Syclone0044 welcome to Florida. Also, it's also choosing to join a union, like a teacher's union, and it not really bring able to do much for you BECAUSE this is a right to work state.

    • @MrKlarthums
      @MrKlarthums 4 года назад +1

      @@Syclone0044 "Right to work" is a two-fold strategy by Republicans: 1. it takes away negotiating power (funding) from unions and tilts power towards corporations who want to break unions. 2. labor unions historically contributed heavily to Democratic candidates. Karl Rove has said on TV that the union busting measures are to attack their funding. This is part of the reason why the corporate wing of Democrats have gained such prominence: the labor union funding is drying up.

      I would love to see infrastructure work that creates permanent prosperty. Such as roads. Such as public schools.
      The world has seen growing, and shrinking, economies for centuries now. We have the data. The best way to grow a strong economy is:
      1.) spend money on transportation and communication
      2.) spend money on education and research.
      Nothing there about oil pipelines.

    • @simonjaz1279
      @simonjaz1279 4 года назад

      shortsighted how? What will be replacing this pipeline and when? When will we see a net gain for the money invested and jobs lost? While this didnt create any real permanent jobs neither does the replacement (which we still don't know when it will be constructed). You could argue shortsightedness for greenhouse gas emissions in which I would wholeheartedly agree with HOWEVER to just assume a long-term plan will work without short-term fill-ins is a plan destined to fail. So think like this...we lose 1k jobs right and we say we will make millions more but there is really nothing coming out of the pipeline for this just yet. So for probably 3 to 4 years these people will sit without a job and whoever that pipeline would have benefitted financially will no longer do so for another 3 to 4 years. THEN We invest in building clean energy probably billions of dollars in the negative taking around maybe 10 years to net even? This just seems wildly absurd to me. Replace the bad energy with green energy when we actually have investments in it so people dont lose jobs and the country doesnt lose billions. Simple and conservative solution.

      Where they crave for the times where they as white people can do and tell people to do as they wish, because they're white and male, and have guns.
      They don't care about abortions, they just want to tell women what they can or cannot do. And hide behind the bible while doing so.
      If womens' rights weren't such a big issue in today's society, they'd be against women voting rights too.

Bring back all the ridiculous regulations so jobs will be forced back overseas (to Bidens CCP buddies, of course). Kill tens of thousands of jobs by stopping the pipeline and drilling on federal land, which also makes us energy dependent again, much to the delight of Russia and many others. Stop the wall construction and let illegals in by the tens of thousands and give them everything for free and then they can take all what few jobs will be left. Not to mention all of the non-vetted illegals that will be watzing right into our country and bringing their child sex trafficking with them. Biden’s not pro-China, it’s more the opposite.
      The Obama administration actually massively decreased the trade deficit from $60 billion to $40 billion. While the Trump administration actually increased the trade deficit to $67 billion which is higher than George W. Bush’s administration & highest period since 2008. The Obama administration also targeted China on minerals and negotiated with China to remove export tax restrictions for American and foreign companies companies to gain access to Chinese minerals since it violated WTO standards, prioritized Chinese companies & was against China’s stance. Jobs were also increasing during the Obama administration. And most outsourced jobs to China are manufacturing jobs due high competitiveness from companies in industries such as Consumer electronics within China, not from government policies and most non manufacturing jobs and competitive manufacturing jobs such as the auto-industry jobs were kept in the US especially after the government bailed out General Motors by the US treasury under the Obama administration. Outsourcing is the least of concerns on replacing workers, and automation & growing service sector jobs is the most to be concerned about as there were increase in American manufacturing production but decrease in manufacturing employment. The Obama administration was actually better on having competitive and domestic industries in a stimulus fueled economy while reducing the trade deficit, but trade freely without tariffs and compete fairly. While the Trump administration formed tariffs on foreign products and increase the trade deficit with other countries but only non-Chinese nations. But, Joe Biden’s most likely is going to continue those policies from the Obama administration to help American manufacturing, since he was the Vice President of the US during the time.
      Joe Biden also is planning on bringing manufacturing back to America under his “Made in America” initiative of policies, reduce the trade deficit like the Obama administration was doing, while keeping free trade and have competition with foreign competitors.

    • @the-renegade
      @the-renegade 4 года назад +6

      The pipeline had a lot of issues from the get-go. 😒 According to the Washington Post, it was controversial because of climate activists. The channel "would carry tar sands, or heavy bitumen, from the boreal forests of northern Alberta, Canada, to refineries on the U.S. Gulf Coast. The energy used in extracting these molasses-like petroleum supplies would contribute heavily to climate change." Furthermore, there were legal hurdles between the Trump administration and the private sector. "As large financial institutions have become more sensitive to climate considerations, several major banks have announced that they would no longer lend money to oil sands extraction projects." In other words, sociopolitical pressure, climate concerns, and legal obstacles made the pipeline construction arduous to continue in oil production, Pres. Biden already told the American people that he isn't allowing oil production on federal lands. In terms of existing oil production, we're still here.
      Oh, the Biden administration is supporting nuclear power. Support Nuclear Energy! ☢☢☢

      No joke. His tone, diction, and cadence are just creepy. His body (gag) language even more so. I literally feel so gross anytime I have to see or hear him.

      He's been on it a minute. Dude tries to replicate Trump. He thinks he is verison 2.0 except little Rafael could never be that.
