Showing and talking about how this machine works makes this machine interesting to me. I have never been interested in rc construction equipment but I do like mechanical things.
It had been a while since you had posted anything from your other side of the hobby. It's always interesting to learn new stuff. Thanks for that! We might've been spoilt for a while, but I do miss a bit more of content from the channel. Good thing for you other stuff in life (probably more important) are keeping you busy! Always making me crave for more RC TNT content! 😃
Heh, thanks YoShImUrA53. There's a good balance of stuff coming down the pipeline soon. Just gotta find time to get it all done! Glad you enjoyed it :)
This is awesome! Seeing that screw actuator had me thinking there's some real torque in the upgrade, and sure enough they could nearly pull the whole excavator over :). I'm curious if you use an airbrush for your scale painting needs? I'm trying to decide if I want to go down that rabbit hole or if I should stick with rattle cans and brushes. I went to my first comp over the weekend and got a lesson on the impact scale points can have 😂. I stupidly thought scale points were just for class 1. On the bright side, the Sendero did awesome and I was really thankful for its turning radius after watching so many people struggle in some spots. Best way I can describe it is just just climbs, and stays pretty composed/predictable. I even did my first V notch ever... on the clock, and cleaned it 👏. Pretty challenging course on a river bank that were still wet from the last rain. I kept both courses in the negative points and wound up mid pack so that felt really good. Now to just max out my scale points 😆. You and West Desert Wheeler are both great at the knowledge drops. Very much appreciated and most certainly accelerated my learning how to RC crawl
This was really fun to read, that's awesome! I am considering the air brush rabbit hole as well. I used those exact words on the phone to my dad just the other day :) Been thinking I should get into it for years! Congrats on the drive at the comp! I don't have experience in scale points outside of class 1 either, though different rule sets have different parameters - and why not apply it to class 2. The comp stuff I've always enjoyed but really I just want to drive gates with/against others. The rest of it is details :p
@@RCTNT Yeah when I checked in, they were like, do you know how many scale points you have? I was like, nope, but I have a winch and this tow strap 😅. I like the events to have fun, learn, see others' creations, but I sometimes can't help get a little competitive. I keep it light hearted but it drives me to do better the next time :). On course 2 I broke a hook on my land anchor accidentally punching reverse while I was trying to keep tension on the winch wire. That AE controller is quite good, I used the channel 3 EPA to slow down the servo I'm using. The downside is that under time stress, I push that slider right past the center neutral and the winch reverses. I'm nerding out so bad right now, but it was so much fun to run the gates. I made a paracord lanyard for the transmitter, which saved me on the 3-handed winch operation. I've since ordered a used Spektrum receiver to take advantage of the momentary toggle. Thanks for being a sympathetic ear man, I am gushing this week For the airbrush, I just wonder if I tool up, will I use that investment more than a couple times. It always looks so cool when others do it, will I just want to pull out my thinning hair? 😆
@@Andy_Yates lol only you can know the answer to that last question! The comp stuff is really fun to read. Thanks for sharing, I can live vicariously through it for a bit! Bring on the next one eh!
@@RCTNT Definitely! The next one is at Beards Hollow shoreline, next to a state park a couple hours from here called Cape Disappointment. I have to not let that park name get to me haha!
Thanks! The delay is still there while I use the original radio. The way to get past this is to replace the radio with a traditional rc unit, but then you'll need an ESC for each linear actuator. Totally doable, but the return on investment may be hard to justify!!
Sorry to hear it... Although in hindsight I'd be tempted to go hydraulic too. I have a hydraulic excavator here and it's night and day better than the 1580. I've gotta think the hydraulic conversion would be worth it, expensive as it is!
@@RCTNT OK great thanks for that advice, I think I will go ahead and buy it. I actually have the top race 211m, it is the same as 1580 though. I have been researching the new Double eagle volvo excavator but it is unreliable.
I went back and forth on making the 1580 hydraulic, before settling on actuators. I'm glad I did it this way so I have variety in my videos, but if I was doing it again I'd probably just go directly to hydraulic.
Can the controls be reversed on the 1580? Having the boom go up with down input on the controller is odd, particularly since the stick goes down with down input.
I switched the boom wires on the circuit board connector but having trouble finding a board diagram with english descriptions on which wires are the max extension cutoffs so I can reverse those as well. Do you happen to know where I can find a diagram or know which wires these are?
Good solution! I don't know - but try it like this first anyway. You may find the cut off works fine even with reversed motor polarity. It's a simple enough system. Just pay attention and be ready to release the button if it doesn't stop like it should.
The AliExpress links aren't working at all now, even if I create fresh ones. That's annoying! Well, I just spent 40 minutes trying to find the right links and I managed all but the actuators. So there's an updated list in the article now. Hope that helps!! rc-tnt.com/how-to/huina-1580-upgrades/
No worries. Sorry I couldn't give you the main part, but hopefully the other ones I found are still better than stock. I expect they will be but don't know for sure as I haven't used em! Good luck with it

Hello, I commented about a week ago on your other video about your Initial review of this and I finally ordered one but it was the top race one and it got delivered today and the short putter was already broke on it and I have no experience with repairing rc stuff, is there anyway you can make a video showing how you would make this repair?
What is the short putter? Honestly if it arrived broken I'd be forgetting repair and going straight back to the seller. Make a short video showing the problem and ask them for the replacement part. They should help.
Hello. Please if you can help .. I have bought a new WLToys 16800 arm, receiver and transmitter which I have fitted to my Huina 1592 with a minor mod but I'm not sure how to bind or connect the receiver to the transmitter. When I switch it all on the lights on the arm flash but nothing seems to work. It is all plug and play as far as the arm connections to the receiver board goes. Any ideas ? Thank you.
The wltoys transmitter would need to be directly compatible with the huina 1592 mainboard - I don't like your odds of that being the case. Can you use the 16800 receiver in place of the 1592 receiver? If you've done that already and the 16800 transmitter doesn't talk to the 16800 receiver, I'd directing this question to the place who sold them to you. They should be able to advise how to bind them. I see even wltoys sells this directly (www.wl-toys.com/Wltoys-16800-Remote-Control-Receiver-board-44811.html), but there's no instruction on how to bind. This will take some searching online. Rc-groups can be helpful for these more obscure questions - you always make an account and ask there. I've thought on this a bit but short of knowing how wl-toys do their binding process, I don't know how to help you further, sorry! Good luck with it.
