- TLDR: Fry screaming is essentially singing or belting, while isometrically contracting the vocalis/TA muscles, and the cricothyroid muscles. This tensions the true cords while they vibrate, and slows down or alters their vibrations to produce distortion.

My left ear liked the video! :)
oh no. Didn’t even realize my video editor rendered the audio in mono.
Thanks a lot! To me this as important as a good practical tutorial, for knowledge is power!
I like that you go for a medium slow tempo in your explanations, perfect for me to follow along.
There videos you put out that go in depth about the details of screaming help so much more than the other tutorials on RUclips saying you just have to feel it. Keep it up! P.S. I’m not good at telling apart screams but I’ve always wondered what screams are mainly used in the song artificial suicide by bad omens?
typically that punchy style of mid ranged screams in metal core is done through fry screaming. Some vocalists will add a hint of their false cords vibrating in their lower registers to make it sound more powerful, like the vocalist of Currents
@@Scream-Theory Thanks for the help! Now I just have to get good at screaming LOL
@@Higgs2465 Good luck and never give up! If you would like to have a lesson with me to help you expedite the process, just send me an email at screamtheoryvocalcoaching@gmail.com
My lessons are affordable so you don’t need to worry about astronomical prices that you see with other vocal coaches in this space.
I'll definitely check it out if I feel I hit a wall, I appreciate it!@@Scream-Theory
As much I am good with basics of FC screams (regular, guttural, tunnel, lows, etc.) - a good progress since August when I talked to you and sent you my voice memos, I reckon.
As for frys I can do something, but I have no idea if it is fry apart from knowing that it does not hurt my throat. So this will be a good video to know the theory behind it and how it should feel.
You can always send me a recording and Ill let you know!
Great stuff! Hopefully your overall theory is proven correct or close to correct in the future!
