When Robert Plant first met Jimmy Page, Jimmy played this song for Robert and told him he wanted to capture this sound, but elevated. Robert is about 20 years old here. Amazing maturity for such a young man.

Babe I'm Gonna Leave You - Led Zeppelin
Babe, baby, baby, I'm Gonna Leave You.
    I said baby,
you know I'm gonna leave you.
I'll leave you when the summertime,
Leave you when the summer comes a-rollin'
    Leave you
    when the summer comes along.
    Baby, baby, Baby, baby
    I don't wanna leave you,
I ain't jokin' woman, I got to ramble.
Oh, yeah, baby, baby, I believin',
    We really got to ramble.
I can hear it callin' me the way it used to do.
I can hear it callin' me back home!
    Babe...I'm gonna leave you
    Oh, baby, you know,
I've really got to leave you
Oh, I can hear it callin 'me
I said don't you hear it callin' me the way it used to do?
I know I never never never
    gonna leave your babe
But I got to go away from this place,
I've got to quit you, yeah
    Ooh, baby...
Baby, ooh don't you hear it callin' me?
Woman, woman, I know, I know
It feels good to have you back again
And I know that one day baby,
it's really gonna grow, yes it is.
    We gonna go walkin'
    through the park every day.
    Come what may, every day
    Oooh, mama baby
I'm gonna leave you - go away
    It was really, really good.
You made me happy every single day.
    But now!
    I've got to go away!
    Baby, baby, baby, baby
    That's when it's callin' me

Enjoyed that Zay, thanks! It's one of my favorites. Remember, there was no auto-tune or computer generated anything back then. What you hear is how they sounded, and they were fabulous, eh? Looking forward to the next one!
Edit: I know you're not going to react to You Shook Me and Dazed and Confused again but, out of curiosity, did you go back and take another listen after you got headphones? If so, I'd like to know what you thought. :)

@@zayzel2670 Yes, amazing instrumentation that's not easily picked up without headphones, especially during You Shook Me, so I'm glad you did that. The harmonica slide into the guitar toward the end is beyond amazing. :)

"Houses of the Holy" is my favorite Zeppelin album! But they definitely transitioned away from their blues roots on that album. Best rock band of all time!!! Well, it's a toss-up with Pink Floyd... 🙂

Knowing how you love metal I can’t wait till you dip into Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers. Give a listen to You Wreck Me.

Interesting….I never considered Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers a metal band. I excellent band, but not metal. But..to each their own.

I’ve never heard metal and Tom Petty in the same sentence. There’s a reason for that I think
