You probably know this by now but for your steering wheel controls, you’ll need an extra wiring harness if the option is available on your radio. And your mic above your head can be reused if you wanna mess with the wires. I had a 2018 forte with a touchscreen i put in myself and it was more or less the same radio but from Sony
So you can actually add the factory steering wheel controls. You just need a PAC SWI-CP2 harness. Also if you want your factory USB for caraway. Another module adapter HYKIA-USB by Metra. Both are on Crutchfield.

I tapped in to the reverse lights use positive and negative to the camera and same positive back to the radio to activate the reverse camera image on the screen! I’m guessing you didn’t send the positive wire from the reverse lights back to the radio
you have to buy a special harness to connect steering wheel controls to a aftermarket stereo i wasn’t sure if you knew that or not from video. i’ve never done it personally because luckily ive not ever had a vehicle with steering wheel buttons

This stereo is actually pretty Dope , I just installed one in my 2008 Ford focus and linked in the backup camera and I'm impressed to be honest , the screen is responsive , it boots up wicked fast and sounds really good , I'm running Aftermarket 6x8 Memphis Audio speakers And a 12" Sony Xplode hexagon Subwoofer pushed by a 750watt pioneer Amp and everything together sounds awesome .
@@aniawhitman808 had to run a fuse jumper off the ignition fuse , then ran the amp wires , I ordered the Dash plate online at Best buy as well as the aftermarket wire harness . I have been installing systems in cars since I was old enough to drive lol . I work for a shop that does custom systems for cars & trucks , remote starters etc as well as custom lighting for all types of vehicles . Just have to make sure once the amp is wired up in the 08-11 focus to ground it to bare metal , these cars don't actually have a true ground or true power that's the reason you would have to use a fuse jumper so the stereo powers on and retains memory etc , the backup camera is a cheap Walmart one and I ran that off the rear backup positive wire and ran the ground to a screw holding the tail light in place then ran the wiring to the stereo unit .
@@TonyPazo216 I dont have the same vehicle you have. I believe the the signal for your car must be passive and not digital. I would look up the wiring diagram to locate the mic wires and tap into it. Or, see how easy it is to take the Dual mic apart (check the mic location/ distance is good for callers to hear you clear while parked and driving with windows up and down before taking it apart) after removing the mic from the plastic casing, you can wire and glue it to the factory location. Not an easy job but I personally would go that far just to make it look stock 😅. If you do take it apart you can add hot glue to the connections, this will help avoid the cables and mic get damaged.
Some people break or can have their screens not work in time I guess it’s another option when I got my truck it came with a broken stereo and welp the screen wasn’t responding if it wasn’t for that controller I would be fucked now looking for a new stereo to get
I have one too, I’m just confused because my text messages don’t pop on the screen when I have the notifications on for CarPlay, I also have the “driving do not disturb” thing off. Also my volume buttons on the side don’t always light up. How do I fix this so I can see them at night

What car did you install this in and did you buy the aftermarket wiring harness for your specific vehicle? The aftermarket wiring harness should plug right in to your car plugs and the other side you tape up to the radio harness it’s all color coded and easy if you bought the aftermarket wiring harness
I’m having the same issue with this not powering off. I Picked this up, wired it up using metra interface on my 07 expedition and everything worked great until I took the keys of the ignition. This radio does not shut off!! I tried switching the power with battery wires and nothing. I don’t need my battery drained because wife didn’t turn off the radio so I removed it until I can further troubleshoot. If I can’t think of anything then this is going back to Walmart.
Does you volume go back to 10 every time you turn the car off then turn it back on? Have you found a way to make it retain the last volume setting or change the power on volume?
@@gyujang6218 I did some research and found out that there's actually a firmware patch for it but you have to go to the website download download it onto a thumb drive and then use the USB in the radio and it's one of a couple things that fix when the firmware is updated I read through it and it sounded, complicated so I guess I'll just live with it

I got mine in. It's not perfect (screen is a little washed out), but still a no-brainer for $149. Getting ready to install the backup camera and have a question -- can you select and view the camera at any time or does it only work when in reverse?
Na, there is a way, you can get the switch off of amizon si all u have to do while driving is turn the switch and then you'll have view!, to install just ask around or go on youtube I think theres a few, not a lot but a few vids on this matter!😎
There's a yellow a/v rca in the back next to the camera rca. If you Get a 1F-2M rca splitter, you can still have your reverse trigger, and also be able to switch the camera on manually
@@TonyPazo216 The rear USB connection of the stereo could have been wired to the already existing USB port in the car, unless that port is only for charging and not for data. If that's the case, then it's understandable.

You need to run positive to the camera and positive back to the radio to activate the backup camera display. So what I did was I tapped into the reverse bulb positive and negative I ran both to the backup camera and same positive to the radio backup wire
How to: Install the back-up camera on this unit? Gps access, how to? How to get access to that main screen? How to make the usb to work? Mine just access to a different home screen, the Bluetooth works just on audio. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
There are tons of videos on RUclips to show you how to connect a backup camera. It's pretty much all the same. You need a power to the camera and you need another power going back to the head unit to activate the display
Sorry for all the questions, Tony but you're best resource on this unit. Mine's been working well bu there's some *maybe* strange radio behavior. When I'm on the home screen and listening to radio, I can see song titles, station info, etc, but I just how it's supposed to be. However, after about 15 seconds, it changes over to the *Tuning* screen where you'd normally change stations and frequency. The station doesn't change, just the screen. Problem is, I lose the radio station data when that happens. I can go back to the home screen, but it only stays that way for 15 seconds or whatever and the cycle goes again. Do you have this behavior or do I have a defective unit (though if you have the issue too, I'd call it a bug and ideally it's something they can fix with a firmware update.)
And I just watched the video again... Unless you were changing source away from Radio with the remote off camera, it looks like yours has the same behavior. 😡
I want mine to stay on the 9:31 screen when I'm using radio. BTW, I noticed the Jensen version of this radio (jensenmobile.com/car70v.html) has a firmware update available. Says it fixes home screen issues (and adds clock to home screen). I wonder if this would work for the Dual or if they'll make a dual firmware update.

What you mean? Plug your phone in to the usb and all calls and messages go to the radio display CarPlay if your on iPhone android auto if your on android

Issue : well Tony I had a difficult time connecting my iPhone to Apple CarPlay. It worked with my fiancé’s phone (iPhone 11 pro max) but wouldn’t work with my iPhone 12. I went out and got the autocar iPhone lightning cable (3ft) and it solved the problem !

Even the cheapest auto stereo head units should be good quality, the technology is here, 15 years ago it was here as well, companies charged stupid amounts for it. As far as the screen goes, Samsung has been making stupid small pixels for the last 10 years, and the patent is up so all these screens "should" be coming way down in price but they won't. Dual is the same radio you can get from Pioneer, Sony and a few other brands, it's just a different model number and name.

@@hunterbatson8779 Don’t have it installed yet, unfortunately. They sold me the wrong wiring harness so I had to wait for the correct one to come in the mail. Then my uncle suddenly passed away. Then found out the antenna adapter was the wrong one too so I’m waiting on that to come in. As soon as it’s in I’ll let you know how well it preforms

You gotta buy a steering wheel audio control adapter. Once installed you get factory steering wheel control back and I think your mic too
They mic comes in the box you should run right behind the steering wheel on top. You can clip it right there. Or on the A frame

First off it’s a wired connection to the phone so are you connected via usb and as far as the lighting on the radio ask the installer

I had a touch screen dual it lasted for 3 years before the Bluetooth start acting crazy and the sound went off on my DVD

i hate equalizer's I like the old fashion bass and treble my pioneer radio has an equalizer and hate it can't get it too sound good

Michael Holm, my problem was that with my old pioneer, I had to adjust it whenever I switch genres which I do quite often. It was a pain.

@@hunterbatson8779 Don’t have it installed yet, unfortunately. They sold me the wrong wiring harness so I had to wait for the correct one to come in the mail. Then my uncle suddenly passed away. Then found out the antenna adapter was the wrong one too so I’m waiting on that to come in. As soon as it’s in I’ll let you know how well it preforms

@@TonyPazo216 what I mean is, since this headunit has the female jack plug for the SWC and I have a harness for my car that has the wires for the swc aswell, save some money and just splice them in?

It does Apple CarPlay or android auto so yes if you have Spotify on your phone it will appear on screen

It’s connects over Bluetooth for call and music but if you want to use navigation or CarPlay android auto you have to have a cable connection

This unit doesn’t use WiFi at all it does support Android auto and Apple CarPlay wired but you can stream and take calls via Bluetooth not wited
