Weird !! Very ironically weird !! Jonny Greenwood is introducing the roots music of Rajasthan to me, an Indian!! & what misé en scene!! This is a gem, my friends.
it's so sad that in India the general public has no idea about the great artists of our nation, and when someone like Johnny Greenwood comes to India no one would have an idea who he is, people would know more about someone like 'mr. worldwide' so no radiohead concert ever in India, and if it does happen then only few people will know about it and I'll miss them like I missed Greenwood
rajat sharma same man. Had no idea jonny came here. Well he's always discreet but yeah general public in India has no idea about radiohead or even good music in general.sad
Amazing confluence of culture here. The legendary J Greenwood just on the sidelines like any other musician playing his guitar. Thanks Jhonny for this experience.
hey Micah! what are your thoughts on the latest Radiohead album? And definitely watch this documentary, it's amazing. My favorite song is Chala Vahi Des
Milklatte chala wahi desh is song by great Hindu mystic woman princess meera of merta and the queen of Chittorgarh. who later became mystic saint and wandered on the streets of india singing in praise of God.
Translation from Hebrew. Peace and infinite love from Israel. Fragile, Fragile, the body is such a fragile vessel One Single breath separates between Man and Earth. Oh, Mother! Vast, Vast, the intellect is a vast ocean One Single thought separates between exile and salvation. Oh, Mother! He gives it to you. He gives you choice. Relent your life to the Tzaddik (Spiritual Master) So that he may lead you. Rich, Rich, the heart is a Rich pouch One single giving separates between poverty and blessing. Oh, Mother! He gives it to you. He gives you choice. Swift, Swift, death is a swift judgement. One Single sigh separates between the truth and illusion. Oh, Mother.
Purely pure... takes me back to my childhood when we would gather amongst fellow villagers to listen bhajans sung this way... so soulfully deafening...
After listening to the soundtrack over and over, I finally got around to watching the documentary..Soo good!! PTA is life. And thank you Jonny Greenwood for introducing such music to some of us who wouldn't know about it otherwise
I want to see the rest of this film! I just purchased the LP. The bansuri flautist is at the other end of the room directly across from Jonny Greenwood in this segment. We do not get to see the bansuri player as I think the camera operator is standing beside him. I hope the bansuri man gets some screentime in the rest of the film!
I was fortunate enough to see them at the Barbican in early 2016, courtesy of a kind friend who bought a group ticket. They were amazing! Plus I love when Muslims and Jewish people try to understand each other better. ALL songs and daughters of Abraham AKA Ibrahim.
My favourite soundtrack/scoring this year. And this is the first time I saw Jonny using Gibson. Or am I a little bit out of dated? One thing for sure I have one album for my yoga session added. Plus one song: David Bowie - Blackstar
This whole album is intoxicating, it flows so beautifully, it’s an absolute masterpiece. In comparison to most music in the mainstream this just blows them all away
See how the camera pans across from 1:55 to 2:04 right before the shehnai (instrument) begins. What an amazing take by the videographer!! It can only be taken by someone who understands this.
Help! Trivia question: the two men wearing the same color clothing, sitting next to one another.... the one on the left (when looking at them) is.... Nasrat Fathi? I know that voice from somewhere.... never saw a face and can't remember the name exactly! Anyone know?
They are waiting silently for him to finish the last line so that they can end the recording. Also they improvise a lot, so maybe they were waiting for some cue or some gesture from Shye Ben Tzur.
junun is one of the best albums ever. pure magic

so fucking true! makes me so sad that I won't ever be able to witness such artists live. Hope I am wrong!
i am from Argentina and i am amazing !!! i love India, her culture, food and now this music like this !!
LDF വരും, എല്ലാം ശരിയാവും 😊
I'm from India too and I feel your pain bro. I tried to get my friends into Radiohead - needless to say they crucified me 😑

"Junun" is Paul Thomas Anderson's equivalent to Wim Wenders' "Buena Vista Social Club". Wim had Ry Cooder, PTA had Jonny Greenwood.
You ever listen to Jimmy Page and Robert Plant in Morocco? SO good.

How come J Greenwood is here?
I really want to see this. I've been listening to the album non-stop these past few days.

I have seen a comment from you in every video related to Radiohead the last days :P

Same.
Saw them live 2 days ago, was fantastic
Que grande Jonny, greetings from Argentina
I can't believe how good this is. I forgot about it for a few years. Glad it's still here.

@@flaptsak87 It's also called Junun. PTA films them as they record the album

I`m addicted. I want to live in India and be able to teleport to my real home at any time.
Got this on iTunes the other day, really gorgeous album.
Missed Junun while it was streaming. I couldn't believe it. I really hope they re-release it one day! Would really love to see the whole film.

Jonny!!!
The last performance in this film is pretty incredible.
I was fortunate enough to see them at the Barbican in early 2016, courtesy of a kind friend who bought a group ticket. They were amazing! Plus I love when Muslims and Jewish people try to understand each other better. ALL songs and daughters of Abraham AKA Ibrahim.
I love the energy!
I've tried to think of the words that describe how this music makes me feel - the best I have is happy, joy and hopeful. Thank you 🙏
Soulful lost for words
The slides that Jonny does on the main instrumental section are genius.
Arrived here after the soundhearts festival. I was not dissapointed at all
I love it! I'm interested in learning more about this type of Indian music. Any suggestions where I could begin?
Zakir Hussain!
Glad to have found this on my way tonight
Amazing n pure !👌👌💐
quite extraordinary!
incredible

Or am I a little bit out of dated?
One thing for sure I have one album for my yoga session added.
Plus one song: David Bowie - Blackstar
I'm almost sure he uses it in The webcast, more specifically un The song ceremony.
Also maybe un scotch mist, but I'm not sure
I was wrong, he uses it in The Headmaster Ritual (The Smiths Cover)
He uses it for some performances of electric counterpoint and on his solo projects
+Miguel Carrillo Isn't it Johnny Marrs guitar?
Mitchell b Just did some research, and youre right. If anyone is interested here the source thekingofgear.com/ed
