Congratulations on your solo cabin! I didn't know they had them. Even with a really good roommate, it's still a great advantage to have your own space. It is cozy, but you have a lot of exclusively crew spaces on the ship with the outdoor area and the coffee shop and gym.
Privacy is the most awesome thing you get. You're already used to a small cabin, but to have your own space and like you said, not worrying about being quiet because your cabin mate may be sleeping is such a plus! I think it's great. Enjoy!

Certain positions are entitled to priority to single share cabins if they want them. Given that Chris has had to wait quite a bit (multiple contracts) to have one, I doubt his position comes with this entitlement. Everyone else basically gets to sign up to a waitlist. It seems like Chris' name came up on the waitlist and that is why he has one now. That does not extend to future contracts, he will have to get on the waitlist again.
I've been following you for awhile. Since before covid. I love your videos. So cool that you finally get your own space. I would be tripped out about it too. I am a creative guy too.. and I love that you can create whatever you want without disturbances from other crew mates. Keep the videos coming... I love them!

I have been on 19 cruises several of those have been with Is Royal Caribbean. With your ship tours I have to check out these big ships. Thank you again for these wonderful videos happy sailing.
Like The_Red_Key I too am former U.S. Navy. I can tell you that most guys shipboard would give most anything to have that much private space. I recently was on a "DV Cruise" to one of the aircraft carriers and stayed in a junior officers billet. There were 3 bunks in a space not much larger than yours. Three narrow lockers (closets) and two very small desks. After 6 months those folks would either be friends for life or mortal enemies! I'm a new subscriber and have enjoyed each of your videos I'm seen so far. Keep up the good work!

Tiny living is a thing now days, so you are now trending. The privacy must be heaven! Seems that as they build new ships, these types of solo shared cabins should be standard for the crew. I am sure this would help with a lot of the interpersonal issues the arise on the ships.

I have so many questions, lol. Can any crew member get takeout or just managers, etc. What if the other person forgets to unlock the bathroom door when they are done? Did you get a promotion that made you eligible for the single shared bath room? What does the room look like with the bunk down, or from the bunk when it is down? Does the bathroom have a sink also? Does anyone get wifi included in their contract or do you have to purchase wifi?
asked similar, hope we get replies... with covid and no shore leave allowed for crew (double standard as guests are allowed off - cos of course they super fit and at no risk to themselves or crew on return - rant over), crew should get extra down time paid, deffo wifi free, deffo guest standard food when guests ashore as a Co thank you for being caged onboard.

he hinted he had to pay for it, as he only does it once a trip. Disgrace the Co doesnt give guest level food to crew caged onboard during covid (no shoreleave allowed, unlike guests), even if only a couple of times a trip.
I always enjoy your real-life videos. Are you allowed to put things on your walls or on your locker door? I find that using the magnetic hooks really increase our storage space in the passenger cabin. We use them to hang up our hats, jackets, and lanyards. BTW, do you have enough room for all your new socks? 😄 Enjoy your new cabin!

in this navy, they can fit 9 people in that room, coffin style triple rack.
