Exactly! My immediate reaction was “why bother, they might be leaving soon” and THAT is why Alicia is the best. Of course Nevaeh deserves her own room why not switch it up to make their stay (however long) more enjoyable. I hate that I was so short sighted. These kids deserve the world and so do Alicia and Josh. 💜💜

Haha! I read “terrifying” at first, I was so confused! I was like “how is that terrifying?!” the only way I thought it could be terrifying if they stay up late and have slumber parties, which in my opinion would be so fun! (but then you get kids that haven’t had sleep and I could imagine that’s probably not so fun!)

I just think it's awesome that you show your house as it really is.. It's not picture perfect. There are toys everywhere and the floors aren't freshly vacuumed, and there are stickers on furniture.. and that's how its supposed to be with12 kids. Your house is lived in, and the kids are happy and loved, and that matters way more than a perfectly staged house. Love that you're proud to show it. And on a different note, I love how kind and patient and willing to take care of each other all your kids seem to be. I believe it was James with Harley on another video that made me stop and think wow, what a mature young man he is and how good he is with the young kids.. but they're all amazing. Love you guys! I admire your whole family ethos. And it's so nice to see your children get along even the teens and babies. I think that sharing a room with siblings is special and a great bonding time. It shows them that living with others and getting along is essential to living a normal healthy life for future eg living in dorms in college. I only had a brother had no one to share so missed out. I live in Wales a small country that is part of the UK. We have our own language sadly I do not know enough to hold a conversation. Although my eldest grown up daughter and 2 grandsons Luke and Alex are fluent. My two other grown daughters are keen learners. You are and Josh are amazing people and I'm so glad to follow you on RUclips. Your children are well rounded individuals with likes and loves unique to them. I really recommend tapestries for Bree! 2 large ones hanging from the ceiling on each side of her bed would be perfect for privacy and also decoration there are some really cute tapestries out there!
I'm new to the channel but Nevaeh is my absolute favorite. I feel like when I was a little bit younger we absolutely would have been friends. So glad she has her own space, I was the same way growing up and sharing the room with my 9 year younger sister. Her smile made me so happy.❤️

Do Bree and Zoey get along well? I wasn't sure with how close they are in age and both being in that kind of tween stage. But having all the horsey girls in one room to fantasize about the gorgeous horses they want to have some day seems like it might work really well.
I’m so glad your “older” girls still like dolls. I played with baby dolls and American Girl Dolls through middle school with my best friend. At age 19, my two American Girl Dolls still sit on a shelf in my room because I cannot imagine putting them in some box. The two babies I took everywhere sit at the bottom of my bed :)

Just wanted to tell you I love your channel and I think the love you and Josh have warms my heart, My husband and I were foster parents to 17 children over a long period and since reitred since they have all grown. I watch your channel because it reminds me of my house of 12 at all times and how I use to do very similar to what you do in overall preperation. My day started at 5am to 10 pm 7 days aweek 365 daysa year and I would have traded it for anything else.!! Anyway I want to share a funny story that happen the other day for me. I was doing my weekly shopping at Wegmans and I had told Alexa to print my list and off I went. I started my shopping journey and at aout half way through I was wondering why I had things on my list, now the kids and grandkids add things all the time so I figured oh well until I read a line that said and the twins like??? I started tolaugh, appartently Alexa must of picked up on one of your shopping hauls and added all theses things like swedish fish, tostios, pickles, hamburger buns for the pulled pork, a dozen bagels and I just about lost it, people were looking at me as I was laughing out loud!!! The best was when it said Mary Kay since my husband and I are gay and we do not use Mary Kay LOL Anyway thanks for a good laugh and keep up the beautiful journey you and Josh and the Dougherty dozen comtinue on. I think it's because it reminds me of my old childhood, but seeing the girls play with dolls warms my heart in such a special way it even makes me wanna have kids of my own even though I have no maternal instincts (LOL). Specially in this day and age where technology is everywhere, even in little kids' hands, it feels so refreshing to see that some of them still play with dolls like I did, like my parents and grandparents did.
yeah it sucks seeing kids play with just cellphones and tablets these days, my whole world revolved around dolls when i was younger, crazy how most kids these days don't experience it anymore.
Hi that’s great that u have changed the kids rooms around again I also think it was a great move giving Nevaeh her own room because of the age that she is cause as all female’s know it’s very important to have ur own private space while ur body is changing. I know when I got to the age of things changing and my period starting mum an dad gave me my own room which made me feel a lot more relaxed as I was a very extremely moody person and would just lock my self away and I refuse to go to school do to been extremely sick with it as well. I’m sure Nevaeh would have been fine sharing but I’m really happy for her now to spread her wings and her glasses look fantastic they suit her fantastically

Yes we try to pair by personality rather than age. And we originally had N upstairs bc we thought it might be short-term, but now that she’s staying we needed to make some rearrangements!
My question is... here In Indiana kinship placed kids have to be in an above ground level bedroom, with 2 ways to be able to exit in case of fire or if an emergency should come up. How does Nevaeh having her room affect something like this?

5:54 - ummm….if I could have an ice machine in my bathroom I would be thrilled. *” **_Important!_** “* this is a long one, but I have an important message about ice makers and scammers (it’s embarrassing) and a question about Alex!! I have Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and I’m in a lot of chronic pain and I go through bouts of gastro problems and I eat a lot of ice because I stay hydrated and I can keep it down and the coldness of it is perfect (I’m eating ice now!). Even when I don’t have gastro problems, I have ongoing nausea and vertigo and stuff and am always trying to shed pounds I gain after my body comes out of the gastro issues and it puts on weight far too much and too quickly 😡 So I eat ice in the car when I’m not driving because I get sick, I eat it when it’s hot outside and every single night before bed, I bring a full bowl of ice up to bed with me to settle my tummy, prevent late night snacking and generally I’m addicted to it. I keep meaning to order a countertop ice maker, but when I ordered one, the one and only time in my life I fall for a scam, it was for my ice maker. It looked too good to be true and 99.9% of the time I research these things and I’m the one warning others to be more careful. They sent me 2 silicon ice cube trays with covers as my “ice machine”. I was offered £5 back, but I gathered about 20-25 people who fell for the same scam and went after them….they deleted their webpage and emails went unanswered. They were reported to a government agency and because I was sent a product -even the wrong one- they sadly couldn’t claw back the money on my credit card. The lady on the phone felt so bad, and the agency we all reported them to? They couldn’t do much because they operated out of the country. It wasn’t a total loss. They started a new website and advertised products on Facebook where I spotted the ice maker and they weren’t that smart - they used the same bank/payment accounts and the agency was able to block them and Facebook has banned them and they are keeping an eye out so that if they start under a new name/account but are from the same place and operating in the same way, they get blocked and the government/trade agency in their own country is taking action, albeit slow action, but the bottom line is, research them; Google the name, business and details and look on scam sites when you spot a good deal on a great item. By reporting it, you help save other people from losing money like I did, and help crack down on these people. It’s hard to catch/stop them all, but I’ve seen hard evidence that they’ve caught lots of them, one company was prosecuted and the people behind it in the country of operation weee charged/indicted and convicted of fraud and other similar charges. The more we report them, the better things get and they harder it is for anyone to be scammed. People have fallen for and tried to purchase goods when they start up a new business, but because of the diligence of those reporting and the agencies looking into it, people aren’t losing money. They are refunded by their credit card company before the scammers can send them anything and the banks are actually able to claw back their money too, because they’ve been caught before they disappear and start another new company. Use vendors you trust and websites like Trust Pilot have saved me many times from scammers. I was just too excited about having an ice makers like yours. The worst part, to admit to you, is the ice cube trays the scammers sent me are the best ice cube trays I’ve ever ever owned. Sadly, when we moved in March, we brought everything and the trays were on my list of things to double check…well plans changed and my husband was the one doing the last clean and checking things and didn’t use my comprehensive list of last things to check, and the _only_ thing left behind were those trays. Those two simple trays that cost us £45.99 in that scam! We replaced them, but honestly they aren’t as good as the scammers. Technically, they did send us something to make ice with. The scammers have a twisted sense of humour 🙄 So yes, I would love an ice maker in my room!! ❤️😍😍 Re:Alex - how does he feel about sharing a room since he had his own for so long and it’s decorated for the sports team he loves so much? Was there any redecorating after his roommate moved in? (it _was_ Alex that had his own room, right? Or did I get it wrong?)
Seeing the girls' faces playing together like that shows why sharing bedrooms is good and can have positive benefits. My 2 boys chose to share a bedroom even though they could have had their own but here in the UK, you're not allowed to foster or adopt a child unless you're able to provide them with their own bedroom, even if they have a sibling they *want* to share with. It really riles me, it keeps kids in care instead of families and frankly it limits adoption to the rich.

I admire your whole family ethos. And it's so nice to see your children get along even the teens and babies. I think that sharing a room with siblings is special and a great bonding time. It shows them that living with others and getting along is essential to living a normal healthy life for future eg living in dorms in college. I only had a brother had no one to share so missed out.
I live in Wales a small country that is part of the UK. We have our own language sadly I do not know enough to hold a conversation. Although my eldest grown up daughter and 2 grandsons Luke and Alex are fluent. My two other grown daughters are keen learners.

I really recommend tapestries for Bree! 2 large ones hanging from the ceiling on each side of her bed would be perfect for privacy and also decoration there are some really cute tapestries out there!

I'm new to the channel but Nevaeh is my absolute favorite. I feel like when I was a little bit younger we absolutely would have been friends. So glad she has her own space, I was the same way growing up and sharing the room with my 9 year younger sister. Her smile made me so happy.❤️

Love Nevaeh's room, she reminds me of when i was 14, had the same style and vibe (still do)! I think she and the little girls would love a star/galaxy projector, i have one and its so relaxing also it makes rooms look amazing. I would love to get some for them If i can someday

After the additions, I'd figure it would have taken some time to get to rework the living dynamics, I think you hit it spot on. Always seemed like Nevaeh needed her own space and glad to see Zoey, Bree and Harlee together, just makes sense.

Do Bree and Zoey get along well? I wasn't sure with how close they are in age and both being in that kind of tween stage. But having all the horsey girls in one room to fantasize about the gorgeous horses they want to have some day seems like it might work really well.
I’m so glad your “older” girls still like dolls. I played with baby dolls and American Girl Dolls through middle school with my best friend. At age 19, my two American Girl Dolls still sit on a shelf in my room because I cannot imagine putting them in some box. The two babies I took everywhere sit at the bottom of my bed :)

Just wanted to tell you I love your channel and I think the love you and Josh have warms my heart, My husband and I were foster parents to 17 children over a long period and since reitred since they have all grown. I watch your channel because it reminds me of my house of 12 at all times and how I use to do very similar to what you do in overall preperation. My day started at 5am to 10 pm 7 days aweek 365 daysa year and I would have traded it for anything else.!! Anyway I want to share a funny story that happen the other day for me. I was doing my weekly shopping at Wegmans and I had told Alexa to print my list and off I went. I started my shopping journey and at aout half way through I was wondering why I had things on my list, now the kids and grandkids add things all the time so I figured oh well until I read a line that said and the twins like??? I started tolaugh, appartently Alexa must of picked up on one of your shopping hauls and added all theses things like swedish fish, tostios, pickles, hamburger buns for the pulled pork, a dozen bagels and I just about lost it, people were looking at me as I was laughing out loud!!! The best was when it said Mary Kay since my husband and I are gay and we do not use Mary Kay LOL Anyway thanks for a good laugh and keep up the beautiful journey you and Josh and the Dougherty dozen comtinue on. I think it's because it reminds me of my old childhood, but seeing the girls play with dolls warms my heart in such a special way it even makes me wanna have kids of my own even though I have no maternal instincts (LOL).
Specially in this day and age where technology is everywhere, even in little kids' hands, it feels so refreshing to see that some of them still play with dolls like I did, like my parents and grandparents did.
yeah it sucks seeing kids play with just cellphones and tablets these days, my whole world revolved around dolls when i was younger, crazy how most kids these days don't experience it anymore.

Hi that’s great that u have changed the kids rooms around again I also think it was a great move giving Nevaeh her own room because of the age that she is cause as all female’s know it’s very important to have ur own private space while ur body is changing.
I know when I got to the age of things changing and my period starting mum an dad gave me my own room which made me feel a lot more relaxed as I was a very extremely moody person and would just lock my self away and I refuse to go to school do to been extremely sick with it as well.
I’m sure Nevaeh would have been fine sharing but I’m really happy for her now to spread her wings and her glasses look fantastic they suit her fantastically

Yes we try to pair by personality rather than age. And we originally had N upstairs bc we thought it might be short-term, but now that she’s staying we needed to make some rearrangements!

My question is... here In Indiana kinship placed kids have to be in an above ground level bedroom, with 2 ways to be able to exit in case of fire or if an emergency should come up. How does Nevaeh having her room affect something like this?

I do remember when Nevaeh and Dayshawn first moved in you had said they can't be in a basement bedroom because of the kinship placement, it wasn't allowed because they weren't adopted. *” **_Important!_** “* this is a long one, but I have an important message about ice makers and scammers (it’s embarrassing) and a question about Alex!!
I have Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and I’m in a lot of chronic pain and I go through bouts of gastro problems and I eat a lot of ice because I stay hydrated and I can keep it down and the coldness of it is perfect (I’m eating ice now!). Even when I don’t have gastro problems, I have ongoing nausea and vertigo and stuff and am always trying to shed pounds I gain after my body comes out of the gastro issues and it puts on weight far too much and too quickly 😡
So I eat ice in the car when I’m not driving because I get sick, I eat it when it’s hot outside and every single night before bed, I bring a full bowl of ice up to bed with me to settle my tummy, prevent late night snacking and generally I’m addicted to it.
I keep meaning to order a countertop ice maker, but when I ordered one, the one and only time in my life I fall for a scam, it was for my ice maker. It looked too good to be true and 99.9% of the time I research these things and I’m the one warning others to be more careful. They sent me 2 silicon ice cube trays with covers as my “ice machine”. I was offered £5 back, but I gathered about 20-25 people who fell for the same scam and went after them….they deleted their webpage and emails went unanswered. They were reported to a government agency and because I was sent a product -even the wrong one- they sadly couldn’t claw back the money on my credit card. The lady on the phone felt so bad, and the agency we all reported them to? They couldn’t do much because they operated out of the country.
It wasn’t a total loss. They started a new website and advertised products on Facebook where I spotted the ice maker and they weren’t that smart - they used the same bank/payment accounts and the agency was able to block them and Facebook has banned them and they are keeping an eye out so that if they start under a new name/account but are from the same place and operating in the same way, they get blocked and the government/trade agency in their own country is taking action, albeit slow action, but the bottom line is, research them; Google the name, business and details and look on scam sites when you spot a good deal on a great item. By reporting it, you help save other people from losing money like I did, and help crack down on these people. It’s hard to catch/stop them all, but I’ve seen hard evidence that they’ve caught lots of them, one company was prosecuted and the people behind it in the country of operation weee charged/indicted and convicted of fraud and other similar charges.
The more we report them, the better things get and they harder it is for anyone to be scammed. People have fallen for and tried to purchase goods when they start up a new business, but because of the diligence of those reporting and the agencies looking into it, people aren’t losing money. They are refunded by their credit card company before the scammers can send them anything and the banks are actually able to claw back their money too, because they’ve been caught before they disappear and start another new company. Use vendors you trust and websites like Trust Pilot have saved me many times from scammers.
I was just too excited about having an ice makers like yours. The worst part, to admit to you, is the ice cube trays the scammers sent me are the best ice cube trays I’ve ever ever owned. Sadly, when we moved in March, we brought everything and the trays were on my list of things to double check…well plans changed and my husband was the one doing the last clean and checking things and didn’t use my comprehensive list of last things to check, and the _only_ thing left behind were those trays. Those two simple trays that cost us £45.99 in that scam! We replaced them, but honestly they aren’t as good as the scammers. Technically, they did send us something to make ice with. The scammers have a twisted sense of humour 🙄
So yes, I would love an ice maker in my room!! ❤️😍😍
Re:Alex - how does he feel about sharing a room since he had his own for so long and it’s decorated for the sports team he loves so much? Was there any redecorating after his roommate moved in? (it _was_ Alex that had his own room, right? Or did I get it wrong?)
Seeing the girls' faces playing together like that shows why sharing bedrooms is good and can have positive benefits. My 2 boys chose to share a bedroom even though they could have had their own but here in the UK, you're not allowed to foster or adopt a child unless you're able to provide them with their own bedroom, even if they have a sibling they *want* to share with. It really riles me, it keeps kids in care instead of families and frankly it limits adoption to the rich.
