Bonjour Virginie, Jim in Cicero, NY USA. Getting beginners going on the right foot, if I get up to Quebec where French is spoken by 85 % of the people, I need to know my stuff. As explained, I have ancestors that lived in Sutton and Potton. The idea is to learn some French to become conversant because I am researching my lineage to the American Revolution. Ben Barnett was in the Revolution, and lived in Sutton. Thank you for the videos.
Tres belle langue 🥰)
@@ellymeikle5906 Ah, I see! 😃Well, it’s not something we’d ask an adult we’ve just met either. Like everywhere, I think, it’s a question that people avoid asking after a certain age haha. But it’s still a question that younger people ask, so I thought it would be interesting to include it in the video. 😃
@@tral403Hrytw Bonjour 😊 I understand French can feel tricky at times; it’s not the easiest language to pronounce, but don’t let that discourage you! With practice, it gets easier, I promise. Try speaking with natives or watching videos with subtitles to get a feel for the sounds. How long have you been learning French? 😊
WOW! And if I happen to have your attention. I remember when you first started your channel, you said you did so because you had friends here, in the US, who wanted you to make this channel to help them learn French. Are you aware of the language learning show called "Extra?" It's patterned after that show "Friends" I think. It's quite good, it's even funny. It's really useful for learning a language because its fun. But you know that because you told me you learned from American television shows, but this show is made specifically for language learners and is made for a few languages, but the script for all is the same. Of course, I only watched and still watch "French Extra." You can watch it 100 times and it's,still good, and you NEED repetion to learn. Anyway, since you like the show Friends, this is kind of like that. I wanted to tell you in case you, or your followers, aren't aware of the show. It's worth their time, so you might want to "check it out" and let them know. Merci pour les vidéos.

Usually in the US we never ask somebody’s age.
@@ellymeikle5906 really? That’s interesting! This is a common question in France 😊
@ To the children yes, but not to adults who just meet.
