Fun fact: There was going to be a third Gargantuan film (with the first in the trilogy being Frankenstein Conquers the World, and War of the Garganutas being the second). In the third film, the underwater volcano the supposedly killed Gaira and Sanda actually merged them together into a 50-meter tall Gargantuan, and then this new Gargantuan would have fought Godzilla. The film was cancelled though because Ishiro Honda was tired of making Godzilla films at that point, which kinda led them to make Destroy All Monsters, as that was planned to be the last Godzilla movie.
It might also be because there was already a movie where Godzilla fought a giant hairy monster. War of the Gargantuans vs Space Amoeba would have been interesting.
Interesting video. A point you left out is Godzilla would have a height advantage: in the Showa Era Godzilla was 50 meters tall, while Sanda was 30 meters tall and Gaira was 25 meters tall. Fun fact - the closest Godzilla came to the Gargantuas was when both movies were released on a double-bill in the USA in 1970.
Hey did u forget that these Gargantuas cells can regenerate and create new ones? So I think the height advantage would work but killing one of the Gargantuas would be a bad idea tbh. Godzilla would've had to fight 5 Gargantuas LOL
Godzilla is twice as tall as them and so would be 4 times as heavy as each one of them. It would be like a senior in high school fighting two preschool kids.
Ya got a point tho but these Gargantuas are hard to kill because if godzilla was about to kill one of them, one of there cells would regenerate and create a completely new Gargantua.
@@joeysullivanTM They aren’t hard to kill. Godzilla would kill every single one that comes back with a single atomic blast. Besides Godzilla has attacks that would destroy them on a molecular level. That cell regeneration is a moot point, my friend. Besides, your point didn’t really negate the point that me and the op of this thread was getting at. He’s not strong enough to pick up Godzilla. That feat by gaira is definitely PIS.
@@pea55 ya got a point there but it doesn't matter tho, there pieces of skin will fall off and create a new Gargantua, but idk I'm just saying you can't kill these things that's all.
Gaira always reminded me of Regan from the Exorcist! I’ve only seen that movie once in my life and will never watch it again. But I try to watch WOTG at least once a year.
Considering Gaira was hurt by maser cannons and Sanda got his leg broken by a boulder falling on it....yeah, this fight would last about 2 seconds. It's not even close to fair.
To be fair you'd have to scale up the size, strength, and durability of the Gargantuas significantly. At that point you have another Godzilla vs. Kong type of scenario shaping up.
Well I mean godzilla would have a real hard time killing these Gargantuas because there cells can regenerate and make new Gargantuas. This enemy is great for godzilla, but its a shame that it wasn't made.
You version makes for a better movie however I suspect that Godzilla would pown Gaira (sp?) just because Godzilla is too durable and the atomic ray is too much for Gaira who doesn't have the durability to "tank" the blast.

Very interesting got a link

Wow thats really interesting i didnt know that!
Roasting of The Gargantuas. The famines of the world resolved. Plenty of charred broiled gargantuan meat to go around for all!
Tastes like chicken!
There was gonna be a movie where they actually fought Godzilla but was scrapped
I know
I wanna see war of the gargantuas in the monsterverse and i also want them to be another species of kong living in the hollow earth
The what if series is really fun hope you make more

Great Double Feature. Those were the days.
@@loanaoftheshellpeople5627 Yes! Imagine seeing Monster Zero AND War of the Gargantuas on the big screen.
@@d.s.archer5903 that'll be dope

That would be awesome l still hope they reboot the gargantuas one day
Agreed, they should continue it when they died in the Volcano.
Simple. It would be the Massacre of the Gargantuas
Godzilla is twice as tall as them and so would be 4 times as heavy as each one of them. It would be like a senior in high school fighting two preschool kids.
Exactly!! I don’t see how gaira would swing Godzilla by his tail being that much smaller. True Toku fans know this.

I prefer Godzilla the bad guy framing Gaira
Godzilla would be the bad guy
Now this is a fantastic idea that could take place in any series of Godzilla, great job!
"Sanda & Godzilla vs. Gaira"
Nooo i don't see that but I see what u mean lol
@@joeysullivanTM Sanda is allied with Godzilla
@@lewisgoldsberry2201 yeah but how would that work with gaira? sanda would get very protective
Sanda and Gaira would die lol
Yeah they would but there cells would make more of them

i wonder why they didn't continue the series i grew up watching frankstein & the gargantuas even got dvds

Weren't those guys smaller than Godzilla?
They are, but its about there cells. Thats the dangerous part of the film ( if it was a film)
War of the Gargantuan skull Island
My favorite , SANDA 😁😃👍
Same here

The problem is that the Godzilla design was utterly awful in that time. I would prefer Gaira in the movie Godzilla vs. Mothra (1992).
Godzilla looked like the Cookie Monster.
Godzilla is much bigger than Gaira. So Godzilla beating Gaira alone is easy. Plus Godzilla is stronger and more durable than both of them combined.

What if? Godzilla was in The Misterians ?
Godzilla would defeat the Gargantuas with his Atomic Breath very easily. It wouldn't be much of a battle.
