As much as I like the Nerd, the essence of the 80's is much stronger from Pat. It's like, I could imagine growing up knowing someone like Pat. The Nerd. . .maybe, but I feel like his family would live in a way different neighborhood than my family.

I'll admit, the Combat joke is several times better than that one Pat did of him not wanting to review the Sonic app games, especially because it showed that he does not enjoy games with anthro animal characters, even if the games are actually fun and well made (such as "Freedom Planet" and "Solatorobo").

This video is A great relic to the past. A glorious display from A slightly buff Pat sporting his ever famous mascara while delivering cringe jokes (which needlessly prop up the nerd’s on-screen presence). James’s grit and sarcasm drives this from zero-to-funny in typical nerd fashion. Hope to see more from these lads in the future. I miss The NES Punk’s Classic reviews but will continue to enjoy AVGN’s. Thank you boys, for all the time and dedication you put into your work. For this, I am humbled and ever grateful.

Bayou Billy made me hate myself when I was a kid. I thought I was doing something wrong when I couldn't tear through the first level. I was giving the game for my 7th birthday and made it through the first level three times. Such a pain in the dick.

The only way to enjoy Bayou Billy, is playing through the Japanese Famicom version. Enemies take 3 hits in order for them to die, you take less damage and the driving stages are easier.
AVGN should go back to this type of videos.

i actually wish Pat had more input into the current AVGN scripts, I think it works better than some of the Screen Wave content.
(Though in saying that some of the last few AVGN episodes were pretty great)

I swear to God when I was 7 and one of my brothers 13, we played and beat "Bayou Billy", it wasn't easy and took a long time to get good enough while playing it amongst all of our games growing up, "Bayou Billy" honestly is a really good game when you practice by playing and as you get better, so too does the game imo
