There is a speculation I could possibly make here that those ' Type ? ' demos, including the TF2 demos, might actually be in the eyes of the 'Interloper,' or the Umbrella Men as some people would call them. These specific demos seem to have the common idea of 'observing' various objects, NPCs, and geometry of the maps they are exploring. They seem to 'absorb' or 'record' their findings at the point that sound goes off at anything they find a point of interest, yet in the TF2 demos, these 'observations' look like they are removing objects, NPCs, or geometry. This is all speculation, but one can speculate further if this could be a thing one can look into in detail. Edit: Thinking again, maybe 'remove' is the wrong assumption, what if instead they are removing these findings, they are 'moving' them? We've seen it before in some Type 5 demos that they can physically move or even teleport not only themselves around but also the Dynamic NPCs as well; what if they are moving these things out to a point in the void, or a combination or moving things of interest and removing things of not?
one of those “?” demos was from the perspective of the eida crasher, which is a scout model and not an umbrella men, so idk abt this theory, unless you claim crashers are umbrella men aswell
I decided to do a side by side of the animations of Hi NPC and GMod Gesture Animations and the wave and dance are almost identical (with only slight differences). I think that the NPC might be trying to act like a GMod player to try and not get caught by the Umbrella Man just like how the other NPCs have tried to get away in certain aspects like how one tried to kill the weird alarm thing to not draw attention to itself.
Hey, pro HL2er here. Yes, the tick thing is normal. It happens on maps that have more than 150 props, and it causes the tick rate to outlast itself. Basically, too many prop = boom boomy boom booms. Make sense, no?
Not sure if this will get seen or not, but I found out what each DMNPC correlates to. One is the "Hi" guy, which makes sense, but the other is Umbrella Man. I found this out by importing the map into Blender. Additionally, Umbrella Man's Source Model file is labelled "Olive", which is a name we see in Eidamona Archives' Facemake video. EDIT: Specifically, Hi Guy is ent_dmnpc_65ge-se and Umbrella Man is ent_dmnpc_8roias1

A "container file" is probably literally just a container for data, and "structs" are descriptions for the shape of data. In this context I think it is shorthand for referring to concrete generic objects. So basically it means "use this box to hold generic chunks of data". The BSP packets are interesting and the "256x256" either refers to a size or refers to a length. I'm thinking it refers to a size - perhaps in this system maps are divided up into 256x256 unit chunks (like Minecraft) and then pushed into a container file. Using the word "packet" is suspicious here - usually that word is reserved for networking. Maybe these packets are sent over the wire - which would make sense for this ARG and how maps are supposedly downloaded to your computer. The jank and jitter to the tracking on joints like elbows, knees, ankles is very telling.
