I was born in Truro in 1976 and with my grandparents which to go through every Saturday like clockwork fond memories of Truro and of course no days I'm based in the town and Redruth where I come from
Watched this video for a trip down memory lane when I used to live there. What actually stood out for me is no one is overweight. I bet if you took the same footage now, people would look somewhat different.
One part of me is going "people didn't really look like this", and another part is going OMG, that's exactly what it looked like. No wonder I was averse to shorts. It says this was 1988. Sure that wasn't 1978?
What stood out for me is that almost all the ladies were wearing skirts or dresses, no trousers or jeans.

I was thinking the same. Apart for a few podgy older people, there were very few overweight people around.... And that's only in 1988.
Watch carefully and see the great Mr Henry Hoskin early on walking in white shirt. RIP Henry. Wonderful fellow.
do you remember when most men wore shirts and trousers xD
Now it's full of the walking dead.😢
Hello - I'm interested in using this footage as part of documentary being made about Cornwall. Could you let me know if this would be possible?
I havent had the original footage of this for years but if you can take it off RUclips, feel free to use it..........
That's wonderful, thank you - how would you like to be credited?
