TOTALLY agree with you on those early Aquaman covers. Cardy did some great work on those. And you are on point - the price on those is crazy affordable still. How many silver age, mainstream character books can you get mid-grade copies of, for under $50. Not many. As you - and others mentioned, 42 is a great cover. But there are lots of other great covers in that first 52 issue run and a lot of them are even less expensive. Like you said, not sure I could suggest them as an investment, but I could definitely suggest them as a great addition to your collection.
Sometimes it’s fun to hunt something that everyone else doesn’t care about. Especially if the quality is there and the price is nice!
@@CoMoComicBooks Totally! And...sometimes that stuff becomes more popular decades later. Back in the 90s, I was always buying DC bronze Horror Books. And very few people wanted any of that stuff...so it was easy to find and very inexpensive. HOM, HOS, Swampy, Witching Hour, Unexpected, Weird Mystery, etc., etc. While those books are still underappreciated (IMHO), they are definitely harder to find and more expensive than they used to be. Some fantastic art on a lot of those covers. And the stories were great too...which is why finding high grade copies of a lot of those books is tough - cuz people actually read them.

The cover on Aquaman #42 is amazing! It definitely deserves more collector interest.
To be completely honest, I don’t care a bit about Aquaman, but some of these Cardy covers are just great. Some are goofy. Some are epic (like this one).
Nic Cardy late 60s dc comics covers from the late 60s very underrated. I found like about 10 issues from the teen titans vol 1 series like issue 17 thru 25 for well under 100 bucks a piece, sent in issue 23 got a 9.6 all nic Cardy covers a couple look nicer then the 23 I got a 9.6 on
FF 102 rules. Love that cover for some reason.

I didn't quite understand your recommendation of Strange Adventures #216. I own 205, 206, and 207. To me those are the books to get and after those I would actually target the Brave & the Bold issues (James Gunn B&TB?). I used to dislike the cover of 206 but its grown on me. 206 is hard to find in high grade and Adams first work on the character which I believe you mentioned. 207 is Adams first cover and a classic (see Deathstroke homage). I bet you could get mid grade copies of 206 and 207 for $50. There's also three nice Phantom Stranger covers with Deadman.
Totally agree that Aquaman 42 is a great buy. Nick Cardy cover is awesome. Great show.
The main reason I went with 216 is I believe I’ve covered a few of the other issues before. Full transparency: I’ve punted on this video for about two weeks and it was supposed to come out before Halloween. That’s why several of the books have more of a spooky/horror vibe.
And that 216 is a killer cover
I'm surprised the Sabrina book is so pricey, great cover though.
There are a handful of relatively pricey modern Sabrina books. Betty and Betty and Veronica have quite a few more.
