Seriously the hardest of the races on the roster, I barely made it past the first side hill lol. Totally relate with you on the ethical dilemmas! 😂 You did a great job Zach!
I enjoy your videos very much. I have always admired your compassion to the other riders by saying thank you when they get out of the way to let you pass, and asking them if they are ok if you see them crash. I'm disappointed you didn't help the rider who helped you but, at least you " maned up " by admitting it and showed the footage.
Mindset is everything! You can’t doubt yourself and I wouldn’t worry about the motor give it everything the bike has, remember it’s a two stroke, it loves it
What a race, HUGE thanks for sharing!!! Tire selection, what a quandary here, M5b good in mud, but there is better for the logs, rocks coated with rain and mud. Anyone, what tire? I'd imagine, no perfect answer, that mud looks super tough. I am NOT a good mud rider, lol
Good times in Ohio. Living and riding here, some rain can turn a normal oxcr hs race into a hard enduro. Have to let some air out of that bib mousse.....
Hey, broskie. I know you're a seasoned HE rider now, but one of the things I learned from some of the hard-core guys around my area is (referencing the 10:20 mark of the video), when you start to try to accelerate to get out of a slick hole, stand up, and right as your start to twist the throttle, drop your butt down on the back of your seat as hard as you can and lean back a little. Disclaimer: I am a C rider in Harescrambles and horrible at hard Enduro style riding. But, I did try this when riding with these guys one day and it got me out of a ton of stuff. Maybe it'll help?
That was me in the red gear, don't feel too bad about not helping cause my bike was parked at the truck after the very first hill 😂 too much mud. Little bit of video of race 1 on my channel too
Oh haha! By the way thanks for footage. I didn't connect the dots that it was you filming... hard to recognize anyone when it's raining and mud everywhere!
Sometimes a bit extra wheel speed (spinning) can help clean your tread and give a bit of grip. Not every time, not even most of the time, but sometimes. That said, after that first off camber turn in the race I'd have been out lol. Challenge good, torture bad. 😜
That looked savage. Ive found pinned in thrid has some magical property in forward movement in slick conditions. And then weight back and jump on the pegs to dig that rear hoop in. All good training though Zack. Im 4 days post vasectomy so im not riding just yet.
when ever riding in slick clay since yk your never gonna have traction i would almost never go below 4th gear that way i had plenty of wheel speed and and one little pop of the clutch and wide open normally gave me enough momentum to get up a hill
So I’m wondering, are studded tires specifically illegal in these events? Because I feel like all those slippery wet logs you’d be running circles around the others
Not sure why you punish yourself with these races, but if your gonna keep trying you gotta just throw caution to the wind and keep your speed and momentum higher. Stopping at the bottom of every obstacle is literally the hardest thing you could possibly ever do. I know it is hard to push through the mental block, but it is the only way to make it through some things. Speed and momentum and a huge nutsack.
on those slimey gullies uphill i learned a trick when i was riding in hawaii . they would put thier bike in a crazy high gear like 3rd and keep up shifting with the buke completly pinned and just paddle out of the trench,,, it works for sure but takes some getting use to because it feels like you are totally abusing the bike and hurting it , get over it the bike can take it and you will get out of there,
Just my opinion but I think a 4stroke for this much mud would go through alot better my yz250f goes through anything but it's pretty bad so might not even do good with that bike also way to sloppy gotta be a frustrating ride forsure more props to ya
Always making me wanna jump on the bike even tho its 11pm😅😅
Same

I hate riding in wet clay so bad. In Oklahoma we have a lot of it and it’s good to find a sandy trail when it’s wet
These vids of yours are fun to watch. Very beautiful. Top man falling, smashing brains all over floor. Very beautiful.
2nd gear Zach.Cody Webb said it’s his gear of choice. You are an animal
Zack first time watching, don't take this the wrong way I couldn't quit laughing at your up and down day, God bless ya and never give up.
I feel your pain man. Any time where you welcome the notion of being airlifted out of there is always a nightmare.
That's a big nope from me. Can't stand mud races. Good on ya for sticking it out.

Love too watch your videos I wish you would make more of them like you did back in the day keep it up
You should totally do a Q and A video. That would be sweet
From a western Oregon mudder: Tire pressure 2 to 4 lbs max sometimes atmospheric depending on wall stiffness of tire.
This video was fantastic! Just absolute hilariosity the whole way through 😂
Heart bro! And lots of it. My kdx would still be there.
That looked like misery - a fine and pleasant misery!
Anyone else have to fight the compulsive urge to wipe your phone screen during this video?
You're a braver man than I, Zack!
In that super slick sloppy muddy Muc , Tap your starter button a couple times it will give you enough traction to bump you up a little bit.
What a race, HUGE thanks for sharing!!!

Yep. One of those times I don’t envy you. Looks too much like torture.
I cant wait til the winter / fall comentaries

reminds me of a harescramble at miles mountain pa down poured on the start took so long to do a lap they canceled it
I thought it was wet there in the uk that was mental fair play 👍🏻👊🏻

I did my first hare scramble here it was about like this. Killed me

@9:50 this is what it looks like in a video game where you're close enough to a grenade that it didn't kill you but it almost killed you lol
Awesome just awesome!
Hey Robbo, from all your old vids of Jarvis I can't recall him doing anything as bad as that.
@@glennalderton1313 I must agree these are extreme conditions on another level. Good work @ZachAtk1
Back to the truck for beer and a smoke

More power makes traction erolovent this is my every trail ride
Awesome videos
bro props to u holy shit👌🏼
Comedically brutal
Brutal!
Good video keep it up
Thats the weather we get evry week in the uk well the part am fae in scotland lol
Awesome Show 😂🤣😃😄
I'd blame the tire but I'm pretty sure I saw two guys running the same tire go right past you... lol

Fok this brings back bad memories
Geez looked like you were running 15psi 😲🤷🏼♂️

Zach, you are a terrible person for not helping that poor other rider. Otherwise, great video great commentary.

This is when I run 0psi in tubliss lol
How often do you replace your clutches per season?
I’m not sure when he does but Im pretty sure he still has the stock clutch. Hope that helps
Is this enduro or 2021 burnout championship
What psi (rear tire) works good in that mud? 12? 13?
Believe it or not but a sand tire like the works good in that type of mud
Everyone who watches this video will never help you, they'll ride right over you yelling, JUSTICE!!!!!!!
👍🏻
Um, yeah, some fun, you bet
Just my opinion but I think a 4stroke for this much mud would go through alot better my yz250f goes through anything but it's pretty bad so might not even do good with that bike also way to sloppy gotta be a frustrating ride forsure more props to ya
Help me understand. What part of this kind of racing do you call fun?
Why?
I really enjoyed watching, I found myself rocking in the chair trying to get your bike up the hill.
Zach when your stuck in clay and your wheel isn't gripping just give her the berry's mate, slightly reving the bike won't do shit
Hi
How is that fun ?
Very disappointed that you would except help from another rider to then just leave him
What's your PO box? You'll be receiving my medical bills due to the severe pain of watching this you caused me.
WTF that’s insane, shit, rubbish, hard work, pointless bike killing crap!! 😂👍🏻
