I get the exact same feeling when I look at the Last Jedi sets: They are all horrendously boring sets where the only reason you look at them twice is for the figs, which are available online.
Its even more evident that this is the case as Lego puts literally all the characters in different sets to "force" everyone to buy all the sets (except for the hardcore fans with a ton of cash). Seriously, I'm jut buying the few figs I want online and leave the rest alone. The ships won't even matter after the movie is released as I'm sure they will either be blown up in canon or just not used. If you like ships that's fine, but to me most Star Wars sets are just grey plastic pieces shoved together (which is of course how it is in the movies), but as a play thing its really not that appealing.
I had honestly hoped we would get Luke, but knowing LEGO he will probably appear next year as a SDCC minifigure exclusive...
