Here's the cheap method I use to defeat SA-X without taking damage.. This boss is pretty difficult when fighting normally, this exploit makes the fight very easy.
Great game, but it has some pretty cheap bosses. SA-X can fire very fast and does about two energy tanks of damage with every hit. You have to charge your shot fully to do any damage, and hit SA-X over and over and over. SA-X's screw attack cancels out yours and is faster. SA-X can fire through walls and can see you wherever you are.
Another way is to get SA-X to chase you on the ground floor while charging because SA-X can't shoot and run at the same time, and while she takes the bait and chases you quickly turn around and hit her with the charged beam, flip over her and repeat the process. This works as well.
@RafanAhmed-iz8gx Try this when she's chasing you on the floor charge your beam at the same time while avoiding her attacks and once it is fully charged turn and hit her with it and repeat as needed. This one works too, it's just timing and understanding her programming.
I can't believe that this boss gave me so much difficulty, yet there was an easy trick into beating it. It's just like Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link for Nes. It's like the game designers knew that fighting a duplicate boss would be too hard so they added a trick to it to beat it easy. The final fight with dark link, if you just crouch by the left corner of the screen and jab, you can kill him easy. Similar with this. But anyway thank you. You are a life saver.
Thank you! This was the only way I could defeat it with enough health to beat the X final phase. I think this boss fight is unfairly difficult. SA-X is faster and stronger than you are with no pattern to its movement. Bosses just shouldn’t be quicker and stronger than you, one or the other. At least not if they have no predictable pattern. Good game but this did annoy me.
The SA-X has a Consequential Pattern. If you use Space Jump, or Jump to full Height, it will follow. Yes it's faster than you, but only by 2 pixels. Still plenty of time to charge your shot. I can beat SA-X no damage on Hard Mode with a Touch Screen. It's that easy.
Dude thank you. I was playing on a computer. Metroid fusion is sooo hard! This was the only boss I had to cheese, but I had to look up strats for the Spider, second form of the robot, and for the Nightmare. Besides that, I got through all right. I was so surprised at how many bosses there were in this game considering Super Metroid only had like 5... I had a lot of fun and without this i wouldnt have beaten 😁 watching the cutscene right now. Clear time 4:04 and 44% collected items. However i will say the hardest part of all the game is when you encounter sa-x and are forced to run away. I died sooo many times. Truly a difficult adversary that i havent felt ib other games
I'm unable to see how Fusion is so difficult. I beat this game shortly after it was released on GBA in 2003 (I was 7). Come 20 years later, I beat it again on my phone a couple of months ago using nothing but Touch Screen. Still wasn't hard.
The SA-X enters the room from the damaged tunnel. So if you are still near the door or on the middle platform, she will start the fight with the Screw Attack. If you drop all the way down. She may drop to the floor or will screw attack to the floor.
I made the SA X chase me so I position it at the right place where I can fire at it with a good opportunity to fire & run. I just kept dodging attacks, climbing one of the platforms above, quickly jumped down when it started to come up to shoot me, and fired when it landed down in my pursuit. I still lost a lot of health but still a pretty good way to trap it into a damage loop if you are quick enough

Technically no, X Parasites do not have a functional Gender. As they are able to assimilate all organic matter and then replicate it. And even Samus describes SA-X as "It". The reason why Fans call SA-X a "Her" is because it fully mimics Samus which gives it a socially functional Gender.
I remember seeing a video where there is actually a way to get all the upgrades even after the Adam A.I gives the final command and locks certain areas but it is tedious as heck
Um, Adam never locks any rooms. Once you get the final mission, the entire station is open. The only time it's all locked down is after you enter the observation deck.
