Especially since he was the one who gave a fiery speech in 3x02 about Buffy distancing herself from people and not talking about problems. Did he forget about it? Ripping her from the heavens created the problem (capital P). There is no manual that describes how to deal with such a loss.
This is stellar editing and storytelling. Without a doubt one of the very best Buffy tributes I've ever seen. You really captured the emotional and mental state of Buffy's character, as well as her struggles and overall strength in just 3 minutes. The music choice as well and how you built it up with the narrative was just perfection. Stunning work. On a separate note, I really believe Buffy had the potential to run for many more seasons. I think we only saw just the beginning of her womanhood by the last couple seasons. To watch her go from a teen student with just her watcher and two friends by her side slaying the current vampire threat each night, to then see her build an entire army of slayers behind her to take down the entire hell mouth itself as a woman, truly gave huge opportunity to see a whole other chapter of adulthood, responsibility and leadership by Summers after she had conquered Sunnydale.

Are people actually comparing Buffy the Vampire Slayer to that mess of a teen show about murderers who kept getting passes for being good looking, and who in spite of how old they are and have met every type of female, still fell for the one girl without a personality? That show that was so drawn out with multiple characters constantly dying and then coming back, proving that the writing was just horrible? That show?!! What is wrong with you people?? And what on earth are you talking about, Buffy being a domestic abuser?
Most slayers didn't live past 18 years old, and the council only saw them as weapons, not as people. While they were teen slayers, they were living with their watchers (Buffy was a special case, lol). So the watchers got paid to look after their slayers. When they are under 18 before reaching adulthood, who develops their own mind and form their own opinions, they are easily controlled. That's the reason for the 18th birthday test. Buffy has always been different, and Giles realized that early on and taught her what's best for her instead of in a conventional way. That's why he let her stay living with her mom, go to school, and have friends. Spike even mentioned in season 5, "Fools for love," that the reason she made it as far as she did is because of the ties she has to the world (which is uncommon for slayers) but eventually even that wouldn't be enough to where she'll have a death wish because she'll want it all to be over with.
The thing is it makes sense be content with loneliness and something that can be mastered But also may make you too hard But sometimes the hardest choices are the right ones maybe for you and everyone else. Because a human heart can only take so much and a human body and soul.

I am going to demon slay, break curses, exorcise demons legal or not. So to heck with "Favoreds", so why not?
