    This is so awesome! I'm in the process of turning fully and wholeheartedly into a worthy son of Odin by learning all I can and shedding this need to rely on all the accommodations and comforts this modern world has stuffed our heads with. I'm determined to get into shape, live and breath the wilderness. And if at all possible live among the wilds in a home i build myself where I can forage, hunt, and gather my own food, prepare my own water, and live a life I think too perfect to be forgotten as it has been by modern people. If only like minded people lived where I do in Washington, the journey would be all the better with brethren.

      @@willperry9324 I am deeply sorry for what all those colonizers out of Europe did to the various nations and cultures in Africa (& in the Americas), including your own area, wherever that is. I do hope you take the time to learn more about your own background and history, to help preserve whatever rich and deep heritages are found there. At the same time, there's nothing wrong with wanting to learn about & enjoy a different culture, its music, clothing, food, art, beliefs, etc, so long as it's done with respect. I hope you learn lots of things, new and old, that your nation becomes a better place for all, and that you and yours get to have a wonderful life.

      The best thing is, that comparing the norwegian gear and way of life to the historical german one is just the same but regional differences, if at all. It was always connected by the same religion and close trading. To us, it has to do with a suspected future way of life for everyone.

    • @MrSheckstr
      @MrSheckstr 7 лет назад +2

      Yugan Dali they probably wouldn’t have had swords, these people are dressed as for the peasant and artisan class, not the nobility or military
      Spears of some sort for at least some of the males would be possible but some concessions to the modern world have to be taken into account. I doubt this was solely on private lands and image the calls to the police of a bunch of “weirdos” wandering around a National Park with swords and spears

    • @MrBellsBlues
      @MrBellsBlues 7 лет назад

      Humans today won't be the same as humans in Viking age. We aren't as exposed to the elements as much and our bodies could not cope with doing exactly the same as what an ancient people did. Same goes for Native Americans today, they can not eat certain things that their ancestors did, as their bodies can not handle it. Immune systems etc.

    • @Doomin-c2m
      @Doomin-c2m 7 лет назад +6

      +Sitting Bull Modern people are physiologically pretty much ecaxtly the same as their ancestors a thousand years ago. The only difference is that the people in the video are "pampered" and not used to the climate. However, there are still many people who don't have problems in their own climate. For example; ruclips.net/video/PxcgmfaunD8/видео.html

    • @MrBellsBlues
      @MrBellsBlues 7 лет назад

      Some people today have trained their bodies to handle extreme weather conditions yes, and no doubt we are still very much alike. However, we evolve, and over a thousand years our bodies will have adapted to the many changes. Such as our immune systems. There is a hardiness you can possess from being exposed from a very good age to harsh conditions, but these ancient people will have had it genetically also.

    • @Doomin-c2m
      @Doomin-c2m 7 лет назад +1

      +Sitting Bull True, there are things such as pollen allergy and lactose intolerance that are a problem today, but those are relatively minor changes. And for most allergies it's possible to build up the kind of immunity our ancestors had. Perhaps the most serious change is that we have a different set of active genes. We still have the same genes our ancestors did, but for most people they have their "comfort" genes active, while our ancestors had the "overcome challenge" -set of genes active. Sadly, that's also affecting the average IQ of people, because they are born with their brains in a constant resting state.

    • @MrBellsBlues
      @MrBellsBlues 7 лет назад

      I see. I'm only going from a documentary I watched and my own theory. It was of these Native Americans who could not cook their traditional foods that their ancestors ate, because their immune system couldn't handle it. But perhaps if from birth they had lived as their ancestors did, in all aspects, they could have eaten it. But then, there must be some innate genetic changes that happen when a group of people all say eat raw meat for 1000 years, and if we dropped a modern baby in that situation it wouldn't survive. I must research!

      I was thinking the same thing. I am planning on going to New Zealand to see the Shire and would love to hike like a Hobbit through the country. I bet with a some survival classes and finding the right group of history/fantasy fans on meetup or even at local Renaissance fairs, you would find people willing to do this. I know there are multi-day hiking trips you could look into.
