- Former two-time WBC super middleweight champion David Benavidez (28-0, 24 KOs) will battle former WBC light heavyweight champion Gvozdyk (20-1, 16 KOs). The Benavidez-Gvozdyk fight will set the winner up as the mandatory for the WBC 175-lb title, which is currently held by IBF/WBC/WBO light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev.

Not an easy fight for Benavidez, Oleksandr Gvozdyk was a leading on all three judges score cards before Beterbiev stopped him in the 11th. He trained at Robert Garcia’s gym who is had many top boxers and they said Gvozdyk was the hardest puncher they ever had
false! One of the judge scores 87-84 Beterbiev and I got this score ... He stopped Gvozdyk on the 10th round. Compubox shows also Beterbiev lead on all punch landed with a higher accuracy. The fight was in Moscow... Bit for the rest I agree.

Some of yall still underrating Benavidez. Most of you don't understand the way he fights. You see his unconventional style and mistake it for poor technique or fundamentals. Or because he uses a high guard a lot you think his defense isn't good, just because he doesn't look fancy with it. Make no mistake, Benavidez is one of the most naturally talented fighters in boxing right now. Great instincts, speed, reflexes, great stamina, and great shot selection. He's one of the most accurate punchers in the entire sport. He also has some of the best feints and sets the best traps in boxing. And he has power to hurt guys. He is a nightmare for anyone to fight

I mean... fundamentally, he is lacking. He literally squares up a lot. Nobody has really tried to push him back, but when he does get pushed back (go watch Plant back him up despite Plant not even being an offensive fighter), he squares up and puts a guard up but leaves his body exposed pretty badly. So far he hasn't really had to deal with anyone who actually has KO power because everyone he's fought is substantially smaller than him. Those flaws won't really be exploited until he fights someone bigger. David is a really good fighter, but if he backs up and squares up against say, Artur Beterbiev? Bro, it's game over..

Benavides has not faced anyone, now at 175 pounds, he will become a lump, there are several elite boxers, in June he faces a very good boxer, we will see if he goes to the next level.

Benevidez footwork is not "exceptional" unless you mean exceptionally wierd or bad. He crosses his feet, he stands way too square and has to reset all the time.
This fight is a cherry pick , his fighting a guy that was stop and retired. Fought Bolotņiks who never been top competition and a year layoff. Cherry pick Andrade who was dropped by Nicholson while coming up in weight and struggled with Liam Williams who got beat by Liam smith that got stopped by canelo in 6. Then cherry pick plant that got stopped in 11 rounds and he went the distance. Let’s not forget Lemieux who was just dominated from pillar to pillar for 12 rounds by Saunders who was making fun of him during the fight making him miss by a mile. David has the worse record in recent history. Kyrone Davis 160 fighter who had 2 fights at 167 before facing David and coming on late notice. And now Ellis who wasn’t good just got KO in 6 rounds by Bazinyan so is he a monster since David took 11 rounds and the corner had to pulled Ellis out of the fight. David has to stopped ducking morrell what happened to the signed fight him and Sampson brag about

It's a 50-50 fight. Benavidez bullied everybody at 168. Gvozdyk has the same height and Bigger. It will be different. He was at the same school of Usyk and Lomachenko. It will be not an easy fight like you think. His punches will have less impact at 175 than 168. It's a huge step between these division. Look the video and comments of Lonnie B who sparred Benavidev.
