The Loreley is a kind of German Siren / mermaid. Loreley comes from old German dialects of the middle Rhine area. Lore comes from an old Rhine area word "luren" (whispering). And "Ley" means rock. All the steep rock cliffs at the river Rhine have names with "Ley" in it because of that. In ancient times there were harsh and dangerous rapids in front of the "Whispering Rock" (Loreley). The echo of the water of those rapids had an effect, as if the rock was whispering. The Rhine was at all times and ages an important waterway. But most sailors of ancient times were not able to swim and when their boats were smashed in the wild rapids in front of the Loreley, they drowned there very often. So the Germans made a kind of own Siren / mermaid saga about that rock. The unlucky Loreley, who was on her way to be forced into a monastery, jumped from the rock of the Loreley to her death. There was an unlucky love story involved, too. From that day on she sat as a kind of ghost on the rock besides the dangerous rapids and sang sad songs and combed her long, golden hair. That enchanted the sailors on the freight boats and they didn't watched out for the dangerous rocks and rapids of that place...and so they crashed their boats and drowned. Distracted by the Siren Loreley. At exactly that place there is a statue of sad Siren Loreley. Sitting on a rock and combing her long golden hair. Some years ago a tank ship crashed there. Killing one sailor. On the photos one can see the sad Loreley statue looking on the half submerged freight ship. My recommendation for a reaction: The band "Die Krupps" and their song "Allies". Greetings Mega 🙂 PS: Nice reaction. Thumbs up.....but: Never cut away the end-credits and the "special versions" of their songs as end-credit-music when reacting to "Lord of the lost", please. It is even worthy of reading some of the stuff they are writing into the end credits sometimes. Little messages etc.
@@Jaimunji I'm glad that I was able to help. But you replied before I was able to post/edit something additional at the end of my posting about the end credits. It is meant as a helpful feedback for future reactions. Greetings
Hey, everything's you've written is correct, but for the Thornstar Album LOTL created a full backstory about a pantheon of gods and made up a new goddess with the name 'Loreley'. She hasn't much in common with the mentioned german siren Lorelei. About the Thornstar Backstory, here's the link drive.google.com/file/d/1OoVcppmL9tUmriu4WIEEdMsTqz7tkGtr/view?usp=drivesdk @Jaimunji Cool reaction, hope we'll see a lot more LOTL on this channel :D Edit: Also, like megatwingo already said - never skip the credits of a Lord of the Lost Song
Thanks again! I think La Bomba is a fun one to check out (not many reaction videos for that one), Morgana, Drag Me to Hell. For some more mellow stuff The Broken Ones, Til' Death Us Do Part and Lighthouse. But basically you could close your eyes a stick a pin in a song and it will be good. Also, regarding the drums, you'll notice in some videos that Gared is also playing toms as well as keyboard, that's why the songs have very rich drums and one of the reasons I'm in love with this band :D
It's really cool to see someone embark on their first LotL discovery, so please keep going! They are an amazing band and as you're starting to notice they also have fairly diverse stuff. There are harder screams in songs like Ruins, but also some amazing clean ballads like A Splintered Mind... So those are some opposites if you want to see the range. As for just generally awesome songs, there's "Under the Sun" ;)
I'm really enjoying it, so hard not to just listen to everything right now! Plan is once I'm done with these videos all go listen to everything and then do a video on my favourite songs
Great to see you react to Lord of the Lost!!! Please react to Under the Sun, Vodoo Doll, & Splintered Mind! I have a difficult time picking favs! Just an incredibly talented band! Thank you!
Yeah!
Love you guys.Herliz grusse aus Hamburg :D

Lily of the Vale is all heavy. Great tune!
Ok so they do have all heavy songs, I'll check it out
If you want a heavier song of theirs, check out Ruins
Few people now have suggested Ruins, I'll add it to the list
There's a live stream performance of "Born with a broken heart" that you should definitely check out.
Damn
You really should check out Full Metall Whore from LOTL...thats a BANGER..very underrated track
If you want heavier, try 'Ffulll Metal Whore ' or. 'Ruins'. Nice reaction!!
Please listen to Ruins if you haven't already!
I have and the video is up!
@@Jaimunji I'm so sorry, and thank you! I just found it and am starting it now! tyty

On this Rock I will build my church & black halo & ruins are pretty heavy btw!
I few people have suggested these, I think I'm definitely going to end up doing at least a dozen videos.
You should check out avatar, a secret door. Avatar are highly underrated band
I have heard the name but only thing I've heard was the singer on the new Powerwolf album, I'll have to check them out.
He definitely borrowed Skynd's makeup artist.... Or she borrowed his... Either way. It serves it's function.
