That Draisaitl trip was horrendous, if carolina would’ve won, I would have been on a huge rant, and im not even an oilers fan, refs NEED to pay attention.

Sebastian Aho got that breakaway because Draisaitl was tripped by one of the Hurricanes player but luckily Draisaitl fed them back

@@chrisallen669 By now we haven't produced such a good player. Of course players like Stützle and Seider look extremly promising but they are still in the making. In the last years the German youth pretty much experienced a boom, also because of that silver in Pyoengchang. Hockey teams even need to refuse many kids because they don't have bigger capacities and we don't have as many hockey clubs. The German hockey association has the goal to play for medals in international tournaments in 2026. If we keep going, it doesn't look too bad. Even though hockey will never be bigger than football (soccer) here.

Make it so you can’t play the same players twice. That would make the coaches really think about who to put out there and when.
@@tomwilson3969 I don't think they'd need the rule. Coaches would probably rather have a 3rd line out there for a minute or two to rest their top players. If you're gassed you aren't playing great, but top lines would still do most of the first 5 minutes because most goals are already scored there. Can't agree more, I'd love 10 minute OT

Playing along side McDavid for years watching his work ethic, off season training, and determination didn't hurt. Confidence is underrated but he got it playing with the best player in the world.

@@ryans413 I was thinking that, but I think a 5 minute period would give them a bit more urgency to score. A 5 minute period. 2 minute short intermission. Let the team's regroup. than the last 5 minutes etc.

I yelled and cheered for Nurse's defensive play, then I held by breath when Aho drove in, my legs gave in from under me for those 2 saves from Smith, and then i cheered, enough to start coughing when Archie scored. I was shaking. xD

Overtime is just awesome to watch . No winner? Then its off to the amateur hour. Otherwise know as the Shootout. NHL needs to lose that crap.
It's either a shootout or a tie. You can't have teams playing extra long games in the regular season, especially when one team might have a game the next day against someone else.

@@maplerb2964 The NHL used to play a five minute overtime, then if no goals it was called a tie. But in the playoffs there is no limit on how long games can go. There have been games that have gone three or four overtimes before a goal, but that is with five on five players.
The regular season overtime games are three on three, so the chances of getting a goal is a lot higher, but with no shootout it is still possible that they could go a lot longer than five minutes. Which means that the top players who play the most could be tired for a game the next day. Some games are scheduled a day after a team has already played.

For an NHL goalie, that was horrendously played. He didn’t come out or stay out and challenge. He was on the goal line. A five year old could of scored that. From his reaction at least he knew it.
