27:10 "an animation a month..." That would be awesome! For context, year 3 Warhammer Plus animation releases - At subscriber time Aug. '23 - x3 20 min. Pariah Nexus episodes. March (May?) 2024 - 23 minute Broken Lance episode. One shot. August 2024, right on time for renewal - the Tithes, sequel to Pariah Nexus, also slated as x3 episodes. No new Vault content since October 2023.
This is literally the only video in the last six months that talks in depth about Warhammer Plus, besides the Kirioth TV video where he talks about the new miniatures, so thanks for taking the time to discuss this. Unfortunately, much of the information is incorrect or outdated, but one thing is spot on: they need serious improvements if they expect this thing to survive.
I think the big problem with Warhammer+ shows, is it’s all reactive. Copying what’s already available on RUclips, not adding anything new. It all feels like GW feeling like they ‘deserve’ the money all the lore/painting/battle report channels make, as it’s their ‘material’. They do have a lot of potential, loremasters could be a behind the scenes making of show, talking to the creators/artists about why they designed how they did. Something nobody else can do. While the battle reports could be showing off ‘dream’ battles. They’ve written so many cool scenarios over the years, which are really hard for most people to do. Because of terrain, and the armies needed etc. Again something nobody else can do, or at least would find it really hard to do. (For example Games Night have recently done a Siege of Terra epic game, stuff like that)
I agree, but it can work if they integrate with the RUclips community and put some free content out there like most do and then use that to advertise extra content that you can get by signing up to Warhammer plus. Where like you said they let themselves down. Is when they see themselves above RUclips and it’s creators and act like they don’t need it, but really they should be taking notes. Or as you say make better and unique content.
I’d say community outreach. Why WH+ doesn’t involve content creators for easy wins and supporting the community baffles me. It’d be such an easy win to sponsor Vince for a painting tutorial to not only increase content, but also acknowledge the community and get some PR… More battle reports too. It seems weird that Warhammer+ seems allergic to playing Warhammer… Finally, generally just a regular schedule. Like, Skaventide just released and there has been no new AOS animations?! They NEED to have a regular update for content delivery.
I live in Japan and the website says I won't get access to Warhammer TV, but I signed up anyway and have full access to it. I think the warning is actually regarding language- ie, it's not available in Japanese language, only English.
@morehammer hahah i was referring to te BatRep Ben talked about that had like a smoke machine and tau fighting in the clouds haha. But I'll check yours out too
Why wouldn't they make the exclusive miniature one of the characters tied into the shows? At least then there would be some small incentive to give a damn. To be fair Katrina Von Carstien was in one episode of Blacktalon, but that's not quite what I mean. I don't expect it free, but imagine if they gave a discount for subscribers on the Angels of Death characters in a Kill Team? I might even consider picking something like that up. A $70cad Inquisitor though? No sale.
37:52 comparing one ripoff to another ripoff really doesn't justify anything. If you really like the Vault that much, you can buy quite a few old GW books for £50, the old books are usually cheap, and WITH RULES! And you have something to show for at the end of the year which you can resell if necessary, besides a single piece of plastic. I've heard people justifying the cost of subscription by selling the model on Ebay. Fair enough. Year's over. What do you have?
I mean I don't get the problem. It's $60 a year in the US. You get a miniature if was sold individually would be $35-40. And then to the fact you don't have to pay $60 per faction book. Because let's be real people have more than one army. And that's not even getting into rest of it.
People are gaga over the apps, and use them with the miniature to justify the cost. In reality, you're subscribing to a service for $90cad/year, and then buying a $60 hardcover book to be able to use said app! The value is staggering.
I'm not going to lie I find Warhammer+ quite a stupid move on GWs part. They have a strong and big brand in the hobby space sure, but to devote a bunch of resources to a propiratary channel when RUclips, Twitch and a ton of people who make and love talking about their stuff exist in those places, just seems like a mistake. I would have prefered them fostering those relations rather than yoinking extremely good animation talent from them. Then the animations on Warhammer+ all feel kind of cheap-ish. There are 100% some gems sure, but Hammer and Bolter feels like watching a powerpoint presentation at times. I mean look at the trailer for INFINITY: Paradise Lost. Also based on a miniatures games(Infinity N4) Corvus Belli though WISHES they had the money GW has to throw at projects yet Paradise Lost looks SO GOOD. IF GW really cared that much about animaations they'd push that more with bigger budgets. When it comes to hobby, bat reps etc. I don't see a point to it. RUclips has those in abundance and often done much better(Play on Tabletop etc.) I imagine most people sign up for it because they want the miniature I wish I could propose how to fix it other than GW throwing more money at it, but honestly it's so HYPER focused that I don't know how sustainable it is. I'm pretty sure without the miniature they'd barely get any subs
@@morehammer Plus just listening to when you folks were listing off the added value stuff. If you're invested in the hobby for a bit(and I'm only pretty recently back) there are several good alternatives to the two list building Apps where you don't need the codex to unlock content, also several places where you could see codex content/rules anyway and it's not hard to get hold of White Dwarf stuff all the way back to the original(I know cause I have everything to 2020) The value just isn't there
Let us know how you’d improve Warhammer Plus in the comments!
Warhammer 20 questions will save Warhammer plus
Indeed, listen up GW! 😂
What a great idea! 😊

Yeh it’s all very strange and just screams lack of resources and time they’re bothering to put into Warhammer plus in order to improve it.
Bare in mind that Warhammer+ is also not available for all countries. If I order it, I don't get to see the Animations or other video content.
Oh okay I did not know this. Where are you from? And also how much is it for you?
@@morehammer Lithuania, it's 6.50 euros a month. Just don't have access to most of it :)
Like Canada - not enough French, Quebec's Bill 96

What BatRep are you talking about?? I want to watch that but cant find it
If you go to the Morehammer home page my old bat rep playlists are there. And if you go to Bens channel 90percentgeek he has a few there too.

@capefury8731 ahh I see, not sure I think he mentioned where in the podcast but can’t remember. Can always join our discord and ask him in there?

The big brass balls on them to still advertise the Vault, which hasn't been touched or added to since October 2023.
