Those pores get mold growing/bacteria and yep, VERY unhealthy over long term. The pipe he's using is core or sandwich meaning it has a skin inside and outside but is filled with low grade recycled material. We are not talking BPAs we are talking highly toxic carcinogens which can contain lead. If you would like the true chemical that is unhealthy within the UPVC life cycle it would certainly be dioxins. In some European countries the use of UPVC in clean water supply is limited or banned.

Yeah not ONE Of the plastics he uses is actual food grade. PVC most certainly shouldn't be used in food grade and UPVC (blue) is used in high pressure water carrying but the moment you cut it, you've lost the glaze that makes it possible to carry water. I've made all forms of pipe over 40 years. The BPAs in the lettuce would get more and more toxic over time and it's a great way to get liver cancer.

I never imagined using a hand drill as a jigsaw. Other than that, I'd imagine that Totally Handy Hank (here) would likely be much better off saving up the extra $20 to purchase an actual jigsaw. I'm pretty sure his "cuts" would come out looking much nicer.

Just keep in mind that some orange pipe are not food grade PVC... I would not use a sewage pipe for food.
Abs is sewer pipe... Not pvc
It's conduit PVC, not sewer. In PVC manufacturing we call sewage DWV which means Drain/Waste/Vent.

There is PVC pipe used in wells, usually blue color. That one should be ok, but it's quite thick, 1/4 inch i think.
