Like some others, I feel that many Chinese dramas get dragged out needlessly. However, it is well worth the wait to watch an episode like this. I was practically cheering when Prince Long Qing and Ye Hongyu switched sides to help Ning Que save Chen Pipi.

Who is left now? The powerful ones now seem to be 1st brother, 3rd sister, NQ, Hu, Long Qing, and that monastery leader, and I think SS may be added to this list as the priestess of light…? The shrine leader isn’t all that powerful. I wonder what SS meant when she said to the drunkard and NQ, that all those who died will be together again.

Here’s a curious thing…why do they still call her the heavenly maiden? Didn’t Fu Zi see to it that she, as SS, marry NQ and consummate that marriage? Hence, she’s no longer a maiden. Or, am I missing something? She’s no longer chaste so how can she return to heavenly realm? I need a Part 3 to answer this and many other questions. Hoping part 3 would be as detailed as part 1 and not this cliffhanger (Part 2).

I liked season 1 Ning Que but I'm totally won over by this season 2 Ning Que. I've forgotten what the old Ning Que was even like. His smouldering eyes are expressive and his fighting stances and affectionate scenes convincing. I think Dylan's interpretation of the character feels more mature and manly (makes sense as the character is older than S1) and adds extra dimension to the old cocky boyish Ning Que. Love how the 2 actors each contributed to make me feel they are a single character 😄
