As someone who roots for all Pittsburgh teams, the thing that probably brought me to watch your channel was and still is my frustration with the Pirates and the whole small market vs large market with such an unbalanced playing field in terms of the money. The Pirates have a gem of a baseball park with PNC Park, so I don't think they get moved when the lease ends in 2030, but they have been more or less a farm team for the big market teams. The fact that the A's have had so much success despite the odd$ and a rundown stadium has been remarkable. The A's fans got a raw deal. I truly wish MLB was run like the NFL and the NHL. I know the Raiders still moved; the Rams moved back to Los Angeles, the Coyotes to Utah etc. so there are no guarantees that cities won't lose teams, but there is a more level playing field at least. A minimum and maximum hard salary cap for baseball and shared tv/streaming would be awesome. I know they have luxury taxes and such, but I don't think it is enough as some owners get money from MLB and just pocket it. Nutting!
The problem is cheap owners tbh. Boggles my mind to be so cheap and ask for taxpayers money. Sure a small amount to do things around the stadium is fine with me but to ask in the 500+ million is a tragedy. Steve balmer is spending his money and the others should follow

Last 2 years in Montréal we have 59 games in MTL ans 21 in PR. This suck. Last year in 2004, games against the Jays was in PR. It's a direct uppercut to Montréal! This lost is the same "way" of Oakland. The owner! 😞 In Oakland you have sign of "SELL" and in Montréal the sign is "Sellig is not my BUD". 😞
Smokey5100's comments resonate with us Expos fans. Montréal outdrew the Yankees in the 1980s, before all the drama and the devastating 1994 strike, but people only know a tiny bit of the story.

I want to follow up on kellymartin855's question. I'm looking at this from the perspective of a prospective owner. I know that the Oakland population is slowly declining, and what I would want to see if I want to establish a potential expansion team is something that would stem that tide and encourage population growth. An Amazon warehouse. A paranational relocating its headquarters. A major manufacturing facility. Something that would generate jobs, population, and greater disposable incomes. Obviously they need an up-to-date stadium as well, and as you've mentioned repeatedly on your channel it needs to be part of a larger consumer experience. What, if anything, is the City of Oakland and Mayor Tang doing in either regard, and are there prospective owners that have had at least preliminary discussions? I know that the fan base is there, and you guys certainly deserve an MLB franchise. I'm just trying to merge what you deserve with an owner's desire to develop something sustainable and ideally break even or profit minimally, as the good owners tend to operate their franchises using the "win first, profit second" mentality.
Brodie, your videos are awesome. But best are when you review and comment on videos for accuracy or real messages with your clicker. If you are not tied to any organization you can comment on more videos.
