  • A quick update on my idea of colouring a portrait style page using one Crayola Swirl multi-coloured pencil as if it were a drawing pencil. Not an in depth tutorial - I just wanted to show you guys how the idea actually worked :) Note: Some nice shades of browns can be gotten from mixing opposite colours but it does result in the colours becoming less vibrant and eventually heading more towards a neutral grey. To keep things simple - I mentioned the pencils most likely to make brown/grey when layered as being those I probably wouldn't use to avoid colours becoming muddy :)
Also - I completely forgot I already did a video on colouring with one pencil here: • Colouring a whole page... . This month has been so busy I think my brain melted a bit lol.

I am so impressed with this picture, and love the crosshatching. Yes, I would be interested in seeing another video with one pencil. Amazing!

Brilliant result! I love the way you will work through the problems with an art supply and find a way to make just about anything work, and create fabulous images ❤

Well that worked out better didn't it? I had a quick look at the Kohinoor Tritones and they do seem to be laid out in better color groups. Either a color with a neutral, such as red and grey, or orange and brown, or an analogous color triad.

yep - a lot better 😊. Some of these crayola pencils do have some weird colour combinations, the tritones do seem to be better organised from what I've seen. Kind of happy to have found a use for the crayola versions though 🙂
