    My God Shot today:
    Mark 3:24-25 NIV
"If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand."
Only God can bring us together as a nation. I feel we are so divided and the devil loves division!
In my house, sometimes I instigate conflict or division. How can I bring connection and love to make my house stronger?
We must come together and pray for God's to work in ourselves, in our houses, in our communities and our nation. The world is divided and the devil is working to continue to devide us.
God, help me start small in my heart and in my house, to bring love, acceptance and Your Mercy! I can come together at a small level and work ouwords. God You are working, thank You! Help us come together for good and for Your Glory. In Jesus' HOLY name, Amen.

"He was grieved at the hardness of their hearts." Mark 3:5 Man, how that legalistic approach can really blind a person and prohibit them from seeing goodness, mercy, and compassion. Jesus is in it to save, no matter the cost. How risky, yet powerful.
Luke 6... wow. I've read Luke a "ba-zillion" times... but wow. If only I could respond in such ways to my enemies and my brothers when conflict arrises. Even when I try my best, I fall so short. Praise God that He is gracious to the ungrateful and evil, and that He is merciful.
Father, God, I want to be a person who bears good fruit, who stores goodness in my heart and who has a mouth that speaks from the overflow of that goodness. Help me to keep from being self satisfied but always coming to you for satisfaction, provision, and mercy for others. Thank you for giving so freely to me, Father. Help me by removing my own logs and planks, show me my blind spots, and keep me from being a hypocrite. Only in you, by you, through you can my house stand firm through the crashing of the waves. Please, Father, help me draw near to You and meet me where I am. I will praise you anywhere and I give you praise- you are worthy of all my praise. ❤

Our God is "kind to the ungrateful and wicked" (Luke 6:35). The whole passage on loving our enemies in Luke 6:27-36 stood out to me. It is contrary to what the world tells us. We are not just to love those who love us or do good to those who do good to us. We are to love, bless, and pray for our enemies, people that hate us and mistreat us.

““But to you who are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you. Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you.”
    ‭‭Luke‬ ‭6‬:‭27‬-‭28‬ ‭NLT‬‬
Out of so many God shots in today’s reading this one stood out to me. The sheer amount of humility and love coming from Jesus is so inspiring, I pray that we can all learn and embody Jesus’s love today. God Bless y’all today, prayers for Floridians and the hurricane.🤝💪✝️

Aloha, praise the Lord and good morning BR family. Thanks TL and the BR family for another blessed day of reading, sharing and learning more about God and his words. As TL reminded us that doing good is not against the law because God is the law. His gently, mercy, and healing are forever, even on the Sabbath. He is where the JOY is!!!

What can I learn that’s new about God’s character in these stories of Sabbath Law, when in my church and in our culture, there isn’t pervasive religious legalism? In this “age of Grace,” what can I see that’s new about God’s will for me from today’s readings? Jesus is confronted with people who have power and want to keep it desperately that they can see miracles before their very eyes-they see the Truth-and twist reality itself (“You cast out demons by the power of the devil”) only to hold on to power. Now that describes our current culture perfectly. But what does God want me to do? Follow the example and words of Christ: show mercy, show love to those you lead and care for-and don’t worry about “those in power.” Jesus knew that even He wasn’t going to change their minds; they were hard hearted and willfully blind. My goal should be to follow Christ by bearing fruit and refusing to despair about people and institutions that I can’t change. God’s justice-and His mercy-will triumph and He wants me to take heart, and obey.

Something that is rarely talked about and that I missed for years is that Jesus is sometimes funny. One example showed up today. Anytime He says to the Pharisees 'Have you not read...', He is using sarcasm to tease them because He knows they have not only read the Scriptures He references many times, but almost certainly have them memorized.

yes! we often gloss over the fact that jesus WAS human, so he had a sense of humor. he didn’t have a stoic, cardboard bland personality. it’s one of my favorite things about him and we don’t talk about it enough!

I’ve often wondered why Jesus seems one dimensional to me in scripture. I’ve always wondered why I don’t see humor, or for lack of a better way to put it, more character development. Thanks for pointing out His subtle but effective words to jab at the pharasees.

How about when He named His archangel--the messenger He sends to contend with Satan--Michael, which means "Who is like God?"

The distinction between humans and animals has more context. On our they are 2 forms but in heaven we are the same.. 1 Corinthians 15:40 AMP
[40] There are also heavenly bodies [sun, moon and stars] and earthly bodies [humans, animals, and plants], but the glory and beauty of the heavenly is one kind, and the glory of the earthly is another.
