Same here. Mechs like this are not that common in c1-c2. Game sense regardless, when you see someone pulling ceiling shot mustys you gotta think smurf. This guy is way above average mechanically for c2.
Yeah that would def be better but I had to run through them once to make sure they were fair and reasonable for the video. I offered him to do a run through of each before his actual attempt as well but he decided not to on some.
"is a higher ranked player better than a lower ranked player?" yes, no shit. i enjoyed the video out of boredom but still just seemed like a good lil ego boost.
I think Zspeed is not very representative of an average Champ 2 player, the man has 4000 hours, and is quite good mechanically, and this trial is all about mechanics. I'm a Champ 3, I'd say above average mechanically, and I most likely would not beat his time in any category. I think the average top 5%/Champ 2 player would have much better positional awareness than Zspeed but much worse mechanics, therefore I think they wouldn't fair as well as he did in this specific challenge
I was about to say, I am around champ 2 , but I'd say because of good basics and positioning. I only just started practicing airrol aerials (only use it for shooting and recovering) because I feel I am to reliant on my teammate rn which is slowing down my progression in ranked too much. I would do a lot worse on these packs.
@@oukiV don't you have anything better than do than replying to every comment who are praising this guy or are you so hungry for attention that you can't see anybody else get praised

Really great show case of how despite being mechanically superior, the 1v1 was close as it came down to more of the fundamental skills and less of the flashy skills :)
hey wayton. I recommend to not use a freestyler as your test subject and also do a little less air dribble-tests/challenges because that's your strength. It makes it seem like you are a little better, but I think speed would've done better if you did flip resets, more like power shots and flicks :D. sorry if this sounds mean, im just trying to give some constructive criticism
Wayton: "Let's do some random challenges to see who is better" Also Wayton: *Picks everything he excels at* No hate, definitely a gap, but seems a little biased since like you always talk about, mechanics aren't everything. And tbh, this match up was pretty much entirely mechanics based.
There's not too many game-sense or positioning related training challenges you could do though. Also I think he actually makes a good point showing that even he won all the mechanical challenges, the champ definitely wasn't too far behind but Wayton still won the 1v1 pretty handily mostly due to superior positioning.
He was definitely the peak end of a champ 2 judging by his mechanics, I'm champ and if I saw him do a Crossman air dribble flip reset I'd prob call him a smurf.
Hi Wayton! I like the idea! The thing is that I have the feeling(could be wrong) that there has been a lot of times where u had experience with for example the 1st car control map, or some of the redirect maps. He didn't do them beforehand and you did. I could see that by the progress bar. The rest like the freeplay things are nice and imo a fair comparison! The 1v1 also!
SUGGESTION: Keep this in mind, but could you possibly do a video on how to play defense? For example: tracking the speed of your opponent, how to react, and knowing when to make space for a teammate that has a better shot at defending the net… love your videos Wayton, keep up the good work :D @Wayton Pilkin Edit: you could even break this up into a series, on how to challenge air dribbles and passing plays!
Watch the other car and react to that, not the ball. Learning defensive strategies for sports like basketball, hockey, soccer, etc helps but a lot of defense is reaction and timing, timing is huge in rocket league because you're playing soccer with a car and they aren't very agile.
None of these challanges actually shows the true difference except the 1v1. I am a GC2 and would definitely lose to vspeed in all of these challanges except for the 1v1.
The air game was one thing and you won all of them but you didn't test ground control before hand. It's easy to set up a play of the wall when you can spawn the ball in front of your car with bakkes mod but a totaly different thing when you need the perfect touch and time to set up in game. Dribbles, flicks, catches, power shots and most importantly drifting skills make a huge difference in game. As the 1v1 shows, you can put up a serious fight even if you don't have air superiority.

One thing this video doesn't address is the speed at which these mechanics are necessary the higher the rank you go. You often don't have the luxury of these unchallenged setups in a real game. So, while someone may be able to pull off these challenges/training packs etc and look nice doing so... if you put them in a lobby of higher level players that are making insanely fast reads (relative to what they see at their rank), they will just never touch the ball.
this guy is insanely good i bet his mistakes is that he always jumps to stupid balls and throws games for his freestyle montages. he could easily be gc / c3

@@jquikshot they’re custom binds but they’re rather the norm. They’re listed as air roll left/air roll right. Saves you the trouble of holding X and B. Hope that helped!

This is the most common setup at higher levels but there are a lot people who like different ways of doing things, especially if you're a freestyler. It's all just what's comfortable to you. Wayton just felt bad about losing to the pro so he wanted to win this time
Now we need this exact video with you and a ssl
first time i am actually proud of someone from the viewers
I love the way u edit ur videos
You can see the work behind it
Nice video man, keep up there good work-I love ur vids ❤️
6:18 i def do this too. saying "bop" in game when i just put it in clean and simple lmao
This was a great video. Thank you!
I love how wholesome Zspeed is :D
“All this did was encourage me to get better” wayton “NOOOO
love your vids, keep it up
as someone in the 1% that plays in the 5% when playing with friends, there is a pretty huge difference
The 1v1 was so close because he's got great game sense. Mechanically and consistency wise you are better, but game sense he's not too far behind you
You kind of have an advantage when you make him go first each time.
Wayton needed that confidence booster, down bad smh. Funny video tho!
This was a great video fro me because, this is my second season being C1, going for C2
When the timer hits 1;03 the video cuts to when hes in the air while its the same time 1;03
UH HUH TOTALY LEGIT WAYTON LMAO 3:20
I don't see anything that's out of line, what is it?
Also maybe having more of a control group like 3 to five people to represent a rank
The difference is incomparable. I’ve been in C3 for the past ten months, and even the difference between low c3 and high c3 is crazy vast
That just simply isn’t true
@@tobyredfern9027 explain this instant!!!!
I'm C2 too. I pretty much can't air dribble, I don't have any control whatsover with airrolling more than 90 degrees, and probably wouldn't score more than 1 or 2 points in any of those freeplay challenges.
While my mechanics might be below average for my rank, this guy's mechanics are way above.
im glad wayton got a confidence boost after going against the 0.01% player
I'm a confidence booster to anyone lucky enough to play against me
Bro awesome and I did not expect that
Nice video bro 👍
Wayton Ur the best at making vids
You DOMINATE all rl youtubers. Ur entertainment level is immeasurable
His mechanics are insane !
I love you videos keep up the Great work
Gotta say zspeed clapped you on the pinch challenge. Maybe not as consistent at the setup but you didn't have nearly as much power. Those were some bangers.
This whole thing was just for weyton to get his ego back after the 1% vs 0.01%
Yeah he had to rebuild it after it got destroyed by comm
in the last game you both scored 18 goals in total
that implies that on average, someone was scoring every 17 seconds :0
Lets goo wayton!!!
I’m a c2 with no mechanical skill at all. I hit the crossbar about 90% of the time
Love youre vids so helpfull. even when i will never bee as good as you. Lol
Im between top 2% to 1.5% and I know wayton would deck me in 1s. Even just 1.5% to 1% is pretty significant in skill range
This guys insane for champ 😮💨
I'll do what you do but just a bit better
Bro got violated
When Zspeed said he hit 4k hours, my jaw dropped.
I have 4k hours and am a similar rank to him... I thought I was the only one who was only champ at such high hours.
That guy is a beast lol, I’m gc1 and he’s better than me at freestlying. It might be because I literally just switched to air roll right but who knows
big brain wayton
I'm C3 and speeds mechanics are way higher than almost everyone I've seen at my level.
Like he said, almost all his time is spent in free play, if he grinded ranked for a month he would be much higher than C2
Banger again bro
We love godo sportsmanship
And the difference between you and and SSL is astronomical as well.
The skill gaps kinda crazy.
BROO THE BANG
