That's really nice looking terrain. Sure, there's ups and downs, but so far it looks more suitable for hikers than the la Lana route. Maybe the next time you're in a forest you can cut a green stick that will be stronger as a pole or staff. Do you ever wonder about something like poison oak or ivy or poodledog bush, or some nasty plant that you won't know about or recognize on these trails? Were those horses at the stable special trotting horses? They looked kind of like that from the image on the business card.
@@SaraDhooma I was trying to remember Paso Fino, which is a special gaited horse used in Spain. There's also Andalusian, but their gait is not as distinct. Anyway, if there's no poison plants, then Spain is a dream, I was thinking it might have poison oak or poodledog since it's landscape looks so much like California.
Those cookies are called "polvorones" and there are a special sweet for the Christmas season. You should also try the "turrón" made with almonds ans sugar. It has a lot of energy. They make them, nowadays, it many fancy flavors too.
I'm happy to know you let reason prevail and didn't try to do 2 stages. It might've been more than your crappy stick that got waxed. Still, sticks are the ultimate in recyclables. I have considered the town of Villanueva de la Concepcion as a place to live. I'd like to know what you thought of the place beyond the lack of WiFi. Yikes!
hey Sara, not sure if you will see this, but do think this section of the camino is doable without big spanish-skills? (asking for the keys etc seems to be more often necessary than on other camino-variants?)
Really, really curious ??? Daily expenses seem to be higher with having to buy food and a room than hiking on a trail and resupplying . Have you figured the cost of your first 30 days and then compare it to the first 30 on the PCT.
What grand views and overall looks like a good trail. I so want to walk this Camino. I lamented the life and death of the crappy stick knowing just how important a decent stick is for both steeps and water crossing. So, while I do not claim any skill in poetry, I wrote an Ode to a Crappy Stick inspired by your oh so crappy stick... Oh crappy stick You served your tree maybe even well You braced the wind maybe even well You broke and fell making no sound since no one was there to listen You sat on the ground awaiting your fate But then I came along and needed a stick and there you were You could’ve been strong but you weren’t You could’ve been a comfort on the steeps but you weren’t You could’ve been a great help crossing the rocky river but you weren’t You broke again this time making sound since I was there to listen You returned to a different spot of ground to await your fate Oh Crappy stick
Awesome costing summary :-) your grocery bill was quite good for all the food you got and the meals that they will/did cover
A very smart person gave me the idea to include the costs in my videos. 😉
The trail on this section seems to have some great views.
The mountains of Malaga! 🏔
I hope you are writing a book about all your travels

Trotting horses? Hmmmm I don’t know.
I don’t think there are any nasty plants to worry about here. I could be very wrong though. 😂

Love your stories, thank you for sharing! I'll be starting from Malaga next March.... When did you do this Camino? Greetings from Holland!

Wooooh! I will look for turron in the shop! Those cookies are soooo delicious I can’t stop eating them!!!!
@@SaraDhooma It is a good job you are doing the Camino at Christmas otherwise you would've missed them.
Those cookies are for the Christmas season and are found all over Spain.
A Christmas treat? Pity as they are so tasty. Actually best to keep them isolated to Christmas as I would go broke buying them year-round!

Sara, another great vlog! Thank You
Thanks Karen!
Trekking poles make a big difference!
I so miss having poles. 😢. El Sticko is okay, but not in the same class as Black Diamond. 😜

I should crunch the numbers- hard because I am working with three currencies- Euro, US, and Canadian!
hoping you are able to get trekking poles or at least a better walking stick soon
El Sticko is my new Mozarabe Camino friend.
The picture of you under the tree is awesome. If I was close I would bring you some hiking poles.....How is the tooth and are you feeling great now?
I am feeling MUCH better thanks! I finished my last pills this morning. Hopefully things will be okay until I return home in a couple days.
I'm so jealous of you. You Rock !
I’m having fun!!! 😃
@@SaraDhooma Hope I have as much fun as you have had when I hike it !
