Green Aqua videos usually are entertaining, but it's nice to see that you can offer considerable detail too. Thank you for this introduction, which makes me see how complicated fish illnesses can be to diagnose.
i feel like that's self explanatory. good filtration means adequate biological filtration. aka large filters with high surface area media for nitrifying bacteria to colonize. good food is different depending on species but think live food and unprocessed frozen or freeze dried food
As a beginner, I like to know what to look out for when getting fish. Dealing with diseases would be a nightmare and this video helps me avoid that. Thank you!
This video is so importan! You guys nailed it! It is absolutely vital to create and maintain the right conditions and proper husbandry for the beautiful fish, shrimp, and snails in our aquariums!!💯💪 Great point and something to remember about the lighting 🙏 I recently watched a video about running like the blue night lights all night and how it can be stressful on fish overtime. I have never used this feature but I know people who do. I really really enjoyed this video!! I will definitely share it out among the fish community and to other fish keepers!! I was a veterinary technician for 20 years and I think it would be amazing to work with a fish vet!! It was wonderful to sit down this morning and meet Dr Marton!!! That was definitely a sexy pointer 🤣💯♥️ thank you for giving us examples and explaining the causes and effects of the different parasites, deficiencies and diseases! I did not know about the green algae/fungus that shrimp can get!? Very interesting!!
One more comment 🤣 you know I always have to write long ones 🤣♥️ I saw a great idea from fellow fish/discus breeder about "gut loading" brine shrimp during the hatching process by adding careful small doses of spirulina and vitamin C to the actual water when hatching the brine shrimp and of course the B S feed on it and then feeding it to fish!! He's also a huge fan of Green Aqua "Sheller Aquatics" I found that very interesting too!💕

Working in an Aquarium, i always recommend to discard the water because shop tanks are overstocked, over filtered and heavily maintained, that water in general has more nitrate than your tank at home, so its in your best interest with maintenance to not add that water.
this is amazing video with full of information . balazs sir well done. we love every video you create for us with lot of efforts. today so many fish keepers keeping fishes without any knowledge which cause so many diaereses for fishes , some times fishes die. thanks for best information.
Thank you for this video! At the end of conversation has been told, that 25-30ppm levels of co2 are toxic already. We have 30-35 in our tanks…As far as I understand the subject, good surface agitation allows to inject more co2 without reaching toxic concentrations. Now I’m not sure.
We do not recommend having levels above 30ppm indeed. But 25-30 ppm is fine for most species. With that said, there are some that will suffer if you have higher levels, it is best to keep the CO2 below 25 in their case. Our experience tells us that if you introduce the fish before the CO2 is switched on, and then the levels increase gradually they will adapt and not be stressed because of that after a day or so.
A very very useful video. Thanks a lot for this. In one of my nano tanks, shrimps have Scutariella, I made some research and I found some people that recommend a salt dip treatment. Do you think it works before doing a medical treatment? Cheers
A couple of times the issue was lack of vitamin C. Garlic also contains a lot of vitamine C. So maybe we should occasionally spray Our fish food with vitamin C or let it soak in fresh garlic juice and then let it dry out. Thanks for the video we learned some ne things again.
Hi, while you say the shop water can be added because the bacteria would already be on the fish, isn’t there a risk of disturbing the ph and am moni by adding the water to your tank. Thanks
This is fantastic. Absolutely fabulous! It is important that aquarist hobbist stop randomly treating with antibiotics for everything! Not only that it does not often work, it risks antibiotics resistance in humans. Prevention with good husbandry is vital.
Good sharing. I have two times bad experience, bought 50 pieces tetra cardinal two times all has white spots, I was told that even fishes die the parasite still dwell in the plants, soils, filter etc. 😭😭😭

Multi Sanostol is a vitamin solution for children, has always helped. Hope the doc give me an ok for that 😊
@greenaqua If you ever have a chance, please ask this vet again to teach us about Fish Tuberculosis, which, to my surprise, wan't mentioned at all during this video. And there are some Tuberculosis species that can infect us too which is REALLY really scary...
Thank you for the very informative video! I just notice the white spot/ICH disease on my fishes in 30L tank and trying to move forward with medication treatment. I also planning to change the filter from current HOB to external for better filtration thanks to your guide on healthy tank. Hope that change could be after the medication period says 2 weeks approx. (and finger-cross for no loss on the livestocks) But I’m not sure how to make a transition between old filter and new filter without having the new tank syndrome all over again. To run 2 filters at same time for bacteria to establish is not ideal because of the current parasite outbreak - I’m scare the parasite/disease would infect the new filter media as well. Any suggestion would be truly appreciate. Or any chance for your team to make a content on changing/upgrade filter on the establish tank in different situation eg. emergency change when current filter spoil, bad filter that need upgraded, filter with parasite dorm into it…etc. would be much help for us whom new to this beautiful hobby.
You should have added the oxygen problem that can be caused by oxidation of malachite (copper) medications and other metallic minerals in the water column. it is always one to watch when medicating. Especially as most scapes have no air supply.
There was similar video concept in Indonesia, in betta community there was an issue where betta fishes were artificially made to show certain pattern buy picking on the scale on a life fishes like a cosmetic surgery Maybe in future episode, green aqua can bring up such topic to build awareness that not all fishes you see are made with natural way such as nature occurance or selective breeding
