After being on strict Keto for a few months my blood pressure dropped so much that I would become weak, wobbly, and even a bit dizzy.
I checked my blood pressure and logged into my cardiologist's internet portal site and reported my blood pressure to his nurse.
She said they only react to trends and not to individual BP measurements.
My cardiologist saw the communication and told her to have me cut the amlodipine tablet in half.
I was also on 100mg of losartan at the time.
After reducing the amlodipine dose my BP continued to trend lower. That's when he had me stop all of the amlodipine.
As my BP continued to trend lower he reduced my losartan from 100mg to 50mg.
I thought he might eliminate 100% of my BP medicine, but stopped with 75% reduction.
It would have been reckless to try to make any changes myself. I only know enough to be dangerous !
Keto has greatly improved my health.

Robert Atkins reported that the single most predictable result of following his directions was lower blood pressure. Ketosis stops once you hit ideal weight but the lower blood pressure does not. Then again the water loss happens only once so it's not dangerous.
Plenty of low carbers reduce or eliminate their blood pressure medications. None see blood pressure problems after getting to zero meds.
      Great result for you.

Dear Dr. Boz, It is clear how hard you work at educating the masses on RUclips, etc. Thank you for your integrity your honesty and especially your attention to detail!
However just like anyone that is doing what you are speaking about in this video as in pitching their prescriptions....I believe their will be a whole group that will use your honesty against you! The header of "why you should not Trust me" will NOT FIX or HELP those people. I know for me since I’m under going hormone treatment, that I can’t even trust my numbers. I wish there were more Drs. Out there like you. Watching you and several other doctors in the keto carnivore RUclips world has helped me start to question the prescription regimen I'm on. Part of the problem with multiple specialists is they don't communicate with each other. I'm on 18 rxs plus supplements and asked my DO/psychiatrist to look over my regimen because I felt like my fatigue/depression might be related to my Rxs. He said it reminded him of a regimen for patients in a nursing home. It prompted me to deep dive into all of my medications to really look at the antagonist and synergistic effect. I believe that sometimes the cure is worse than the diseases. 3 full months on carnivore and now experiencing dizziness fatigue and weakness which I believe is from being over medicated. Now the trick will be to convince all the current specialists to rethink their Rx approach or find new specialists.
Thank you for your educational approach. What's the chance you'll ever have an office in Arizona?

I really appreciate this message Dr Boz. I rarely miss a minute of any podcast from anyone in the space and I have listened to dozens of different docs and influencers in keto carnivore low carb world. The problem I see is that all with rare exceptions talk down big pharma and doctors in favor of lifestyle and then put a tag at then end saying…but run it by your doctor. The entire community pushes getting off meds. I became so distrustful of my primary care doc that I quit going for a couple of years. This I found an expensive concierge doc whom I trust and he got me back on meds for bp, apo b, etc. I have lost 75lbs since 2019, Age 57 to now at Age 61 but I am still fighting to over come the damage of a lifetime if obesity and poor lifestyle choices. Again thanks for going back to talk about bp meds, cholesterol etc. It helped me a lot.

It would be highly useful for these internet based MDs who are proponents of this work to put together (and I think should be responsible to do) an extensive directory of providers (MDs, et al) all over the country so that WE CAN find that 1:1 relationship locally. Finding that is much harder than you might think. These RUclips docs all know each other, they interview each other, its a big network of these 3.0 professionals, especially the metabolic types. If you are going to say, dont trust me, then I think you all should provide this directory, so we can find our own.

I’ve had a gutfull of protocol driven medicine 2.0, and try to do medicine 3.0 as much as possible. I have a 3.0 GP here in Australia, a compromised heart, and top notch 2.0 cardiologists!! The latter are all about statins and why they won’t do a stent. They may be right, but once a patient can see the difference between 2.0 and 3.0 then it is clear that passive acceptance is not the way forward. Neither is going off my heart meds like a bipolar patient addicted to their manic phase! Well done Dr Boz.

Also, when experts speak to the general public, they have to be careful of possible misinterpretations. As an expert might assume that they've explained something clearly enough, and assuming some knowledge to be implicit after formulating their answers clearly enough. But I've seen other academics regurgitate information that's clearly from a simplification from an expert in another field, and they have missed vital information.
This is why you can't just trust experts unconditionally, as even if what they say is completely correct, you are probably missing information, and should still do some research on your own.

The bottom line is, we are all responsible for our own health. I keep a health journal, a separate notebook and my doctors recommendations. I listen to my doctors, but listening means "consider", not "obey". We all need to apply critical thinking to every aspect of our lives. Someone once observed (and I think it's true), most men spend more time researching their next car than investigating their health.

Unfortunately, odds are, our doctors aren't named Boz, Berry, Brewer, Cywes. Fung, or J:
    Conversely, they're the opposite.
Even with PPO insurance, it's difficult to find a 3.0 doctor, and in the past 3 years, privately owned practises have practically gone away in the US, with a major health insurance carrier buying them out: OPTUM.

You are speaking to an uneducated audience but you describe ways and means to achieve physiological results. That is irresponsible because if one person misinterprets the methodology you describe, then you have put them in harm's way. I'm so sick of RUclips doctors who take no responsibility for the information they disseminate, information that cannot be properly interpreted or consequences that can't be fully understood. You are a charlatan who would rather be a RUclips "influencer" than a doctor.
