Hey btw if you want you can spend a little bit more and get lump charcoal which (theoretically) can burn aluminum without the need for a blowdryer

Brilliant - thank you! I live off grid so can't use a hair dryer but I guess heating the outside wih a Mapp gas torch would be good enough? Also, are there any setbacks to using charcoal vs sand/plaster or perlite? I have an abundance of sand and pine but that's about it!

You can use steel wool to remove the coatings on the cans ❤

Hey man it’s love your project and I made one myself as well, would you. Please tell me what graphite clay crucible you are using that is made for coal and gas? Thank you

how about a handful of nails Sir, can it melt those? When I mean Nails I specifically mean specific nails like Flooring nails, Roofing Nail, Masonry Nail, Casing Nail, will the paint can furnace melt these kind of nails down?

    Can it melt silver?

I think you’ll struggle to melt silver in this furnace. Best bet is a gas burner, it worked fine when I made a ring -

No, the can would melt first. Try an arc furnace or thermite welding.
