    Dude, did you hang the camera on some strings for the road test? When the weather gets better I hope you revisit the drive, be nice to see that thing get pounded a little more, looks like that LSD will make a huge difference!

    LOL! "OH SHIT!!!" Man, I was waiting for the hose to fly out of there! I'm sure the crappy Walmart oil is made by Shell or Mobil or something. People are always hung up on names... I do like Mobil doe...

    Yoo... so ive had the headache of this civic of mine, doing a bearing replacement, i finally got the two halves together and it shifts through all the gears, however i cant get the snap ring to seat, did i mess something up in my endeavor of breaking two snap ring bearings and replacing the clip ring?

    • @RustBeltAuto
      @RustBeltAuto  Год назад

      I don't know. The thing should seat. You could try to lightly drop it with the snap ring side up. Maybe it will move.

      Some people don't know how to shift!

  • @mrsemifixit
    @mrsemifixit 3 года назад

    Any idea why my 98 civic manual shifts nice and smooth when it’s cold, but once warmed up (20 minutes of driving or more) it becomes harder to put it into gear. Starts feeling more notchy and like the clutch isn’t fully releasing. Already tried changing fluid and replaced master/slave cylinders

    • @RustBeltAuto
      @RustBeltAuto  3 года назад +1

      My guess would be it's not releasing all the way. Maybe the rod for the master cylinder is a little too short. Sometimes pilot bearings do that, but it's very doubtful. I had problems with mine until I got an excedy master, and slave.

    • @mrsemifixit
      @mrsemifixit 3 года назад

      @@RustBeltAuto I actually replaced master and slave with Exedy brand. Does your pedal free play decrease as the car warms up? I had to decrease the free play from factory specs to get it to shift easier, but still get some resistance once it’s warmed up

    • @RustBeltAuto
      @RustBeltAuto  3 года назад

      @@mrsemifixit It should not change. See if your flexible hose is bulging. Sometimes aftermarket clutches require you to change the free play to get it to work right too. Also, can you pump up the pedal to get it to work better?

    • @RustBeltAuto
      @RustBeltAuto  3 года назад +1

      I should add, that anything that causes your input shaft to rotate while the clutch is disengaged will cause your poor shifting. Warped clutch will do it too.

    • @mrsemifixit
      @mrsemifixit 3 года назад

      @@RustBeltAuto Yes if I pump the pedal a couple times it does shift better. Does that mean there’s air in the line still?

    Can u add an lsd to any manual transmission?

    • @RustBeltAuto
      @RustBeltAuto  4 года назад

      If it came factory with one, or someone sells it for your transmission, then I would have to say yes.
