  • Hands-Only CPR Can Save Lives. Most people who experience cardiac arrest at home, work or in a public location die because they don't receive immediate CPR from someone on the scene. If you see a teen or adult suddenly collapse, call 911 and push hard and fast in the center of the chest to the beat of any tune that is 100 to 120 beats per minute, such as the classic disco song "Stayin' Alive".

@@chris-8597 Toddlers and babies have a weaker rib cage compared to adults. So if you apply pressure using both hands, the chance of causing a potential injury is high since the pressure applied is too much. Using fingers will be the alternative option we have so that we can lower the risk of causing The research data suggests that the ventilation of the babies are important compared to an adult. Therefore it is advised to increase the ratio to 15:2 if you have a bystander. The interruptions should be minimized in between the compressions and the rescue breaths.

This is not a very clear presentation - note that it stated if a teen or adult collapses - it doesn't explain that you should check for a pulse and if the person is breathing. What if he/she simply fainted and someone comes up and begins compressions? It can cause internal bleeding, broken ribs, etc. which could perhaps result in not staying alive. I'm just putting it out there.
