Craig Beals was my high school chemistry teacher. I’ve never had such an incredible teacher, and I’m not sure I ever will again. He’s such an amazing person, and I’m glad to see he’s still doing all the crazy stuff he taught us in class!

this was me just a few days ago. I saw their two glass balls in cannons video get recommended and thought "holy hell, how have I not heard of these guys before?" I've since binges their videos every single day lmao

honestly going straight through the round bale was scary impressive. if you've never been around one it's difficult to convey how absurdly heavy and dense those things are.
going in the rounded side would have been a different story. It may not have even gotten through it.

Hay bales have been used on the battlefield to protect against cannonballs in the past.
A good way to describe how heavy they are, is explain how difficult it is to move them!
Stupid cows rubbing on one managed to roll a bale in a ditch. Tractor was a mile's walk away and the ATV would've exploded towing a bale, so my buddies and I decided to push it. Took me and 2 others 5 minutes to push it 2 metres up a 20 degree ditch, and one of us sprained a wrist doing it.
1200Lbs, those bales. Now that I look back, if it had rolled back down the ditch it could've flattened us XD

@@azzcoopz3270They'd have to be indestructible to reflect the ball back. That whole thing requires it to catch all the energy of the shot, store it, and then release it again. I figured it would make easy work of all of them, that wasn't ever a mystery to me.

Incredible, guys! What a wild experiment that was. The magnitude of the impacts and the noises was just mesmerizing. It's impressive how you thought out all the small details and managed to go through every single trampoline. The suspense really built up throughout. Keep hammering with these amazing ideas!
Dan and Gav are probably the only RUclipsrs I’ve seen that have normal chemistry with other RUclipsrs they’ve just met. Normally the chemistry is really awkward and weird in RUclips collabs but those two just seem to gel with whoever they collab with and make it normal. I guess they have a lot of practice at it
The one with Rhett and Link was a highlight as well
Gav has worked with so many people just on the lens pulling and filming side of things and dan served militaryso luckily they know how to interact with people outside of youtube which helps 😂
The one with LTT was a bit awkward somehow. It was good in the end, but the chemistry wasn't as nice.

i think a big part is that they dont put on characters when filming. they are just themselves. so anyone that watches their content knows how they are so when they finally meet they are not confused by the on and off camera personalities. they also seem to be very friendly, giddy and overall positive energy that is contagious.

When I moved to Montana, a few of the locals found out about my moving truck being delayed for 6 months. I had nothing. Someone organized some donations, and random people I'd never met starting dropping off furniture and kitchenware, with sticky notes on it with their info to return it once my moving truck showed up. Glad they showed up for you guys and helped out! Great Collab!

@@billyjackson5664 You don't really get an option. It was all contracted through my work, and due to the remoteness of our town, it's just the way it is.
If you don't have enough stuff to fill the larger trucks these companies use, they'll often group other moves with you. And so you wait.
Gav's laugh at the piano missing the house comment was hilarious. The chemistry with all of you makes you guys seem like you've been friends for a while.

@@eddief32 Sure is! Also the same Gavin who used to work for Rooster Teeth too! He directed Season 7 of Red vs. Blue and was the creative director of Rooster Teeth and worked a lot on videos with their "Achievement Hunter" division before it ended.
Edit: Also forgot to add that he was the voice behind the character "Jones" in RvB, and later Scarlet David in Rooster Teeth's "RWBY" anime.

He was friends with Geoff when he was like 15 and eventually he wanted to go and work for RT, He needed an "exceptional skill" or something to that effect to get a visa to come work for RT, so they helped him get set up with stuff to make Slomo Guys. Can't remember where but there's a video where Gav talks about it
If you watch both HR and slowmoguys you know how true it is when Gavin says "Dan is my Rexy"

The most amazing (and concerning) thing about all of this is how consistently and drastically everyone underestimates the forces involved here. This applies to their bulletproof glass video too.

Years ago, my friends and I “borrowed” a few bowling pins from the bowling alley and shot them with a Smith and Wesson .44 Magnum from about 30 feet. To all of our surprise, the hollow point did not go all the way thru the pins. It made it less than half way. Bowling pins are ungodly hard. GREAT VIDEO!!!!!
Everyone was just magic. The two cannon guys really meshed in with everyone else. If you had asked me before to predict how this giant collaboration would work, I would have said, How Ridiculous! WELL DONE EVERYONE.
