This is a really good set, & I'm happy that TLG have made the train be able to go round corners & on track unlike the MFs one. The only niggle I have about the loco is that it doesn't have side rods. I really do love the turning crank gun/turret thing, it's just so simple & it reminds me of the vone from BioShock Infinite. I must build my own/buy whole the wagon split from the set on ebay. The water tower looks very nice & prototypical. In all, a very good set!
That looks like an awesome set I can't wait to find it along with the rest of the other sets just great. Oh by the way I love that music. Thank you for sharing.
It wouldn't be too hard to do simple side rods, just so you connect the wheels (no rods going into the pistons). All you need are 2 9L technic beams and some (6) 2L "snap" connectors...
I think it would have been better if the train had some rods in the wheels like the emerald night. But make them thinner so they don't stand out as much but still look cool. Could you try this and see if it would work?
I found on ebay that there is a Lone Ranger engine and tender for sale, so you can use the tender on the Toy Story engine, and the second lone ranger engine without the tender can be a prop. That's how I would do it, and I would use the Toy Story engine as the other train (The Jupiter), that way you have all 3 locomotives.
I'm going to buy all the lone ranger sets with money I've saved up. I already have The Silver Mine Shoot Out, The Cavalry builder set, and The Camanche camp
This is awesome, I just came back from the lego store where I picked up the LTG cavalry building set. Tight budget and all. =(. I'm excited to build it.
TODO LO QUE PONGA PONELO EN EL TRDUCTOR. LEGO LONE RANGER TRAIN QUE BUENA MAQUETA PERO QUE BUENA MAQUETA UNISTE TODOS LOS LEGOS QUE TENIAS DEL DECIERTO Y TE QUEDO MUY BUENA ES LO UNICO QUE QUIERO DECIR.
Question for you @MASABOUTLEGO: Where did you build the power function into this train? It seems like in the small coal car but you didnt show that part. Do you have a suggestion on how to best implement power functions in this train? Thanks!
thank u for answering my question but what i wanted to know was if the motor has a button to turn it on and off? or is it a remote control that you are using?
although the engine looks fantastic, there's too much good missing from it The tender could be bigger to house a motor, the engine could have siderods, they could have been less lazy with the trucks on the cars, I could go on, but i probably shouldnt
I agree on the side rods it would have finished it off,and using power functions too but to much of a rebuild.
It's a good set.
Hi I did cheat a bit by using the 9 volt motor look at 4.48 you could use the power functions but would need a remodel to get them in.
Good idea.
Very detailed, especially for a set that is not specific to the train theme.
We used 9 volt but you could fit power functions in with a few mods.
Good idea, might use that for another western set. Ta.
I really do love the turning crank gun/turret thing. I really will have to build my own.
From Lego online and used 9volt system as power functions would mean a big rebuild
Dont know will have to wait and see the film
Yes could have been a little better for the motor ect
No 9 volt is a lot easier than power functions.
Agree

Would be good, will see.
This is nostalgic to me
Great set.
It is one of the best Wild West LEGO trains, like the Toy Story one.
It can be classified as a 10 wheeler (5 axels) locomotive, as it has 4 leading wheels, and 6 drive wheels
@@TheGs4_4449 Think is a 4 6 0
It is, 10 wheeler is an old nick name for 4-6-0s.
Will take a bit but you can but try. I used the 9 volt motor cause it was quicker and very easy.
I agree.
No but you do get the track.
No you will have to put all in
That looks like an awesome set I can't wait to find it along with the rest of the other sets just great. Oh by the way I love that music. Thank you for sharing.
nice nice nice good work and a cool train thanks and thanks
Conecting rods
I think the dude in the grey suit and black bowler hat is supposed to be the mayor
I have this set, but did not film building it. I think I will film rebuilding it. Nice video
Thanks. Great set.
If have time one day, but yes you are right.
It wouldn't be too hard to do simple side rods, just so you connect the wheels (no rods going into the pistons). All you need are 2 9L technic beams and some (6) 2L "snap" connectors...

Don't have it but if get it will do
Wow, how did you keep the locomotive stable while you added to it?? That is great stop motion.
Awsome train! :-)
Used the 9 volt track and put motor in the tender

This is awesome, I just came back from the lego store where I picked up the LTG cavalry building set. Tight budget and all. =(. I'm excited to build it.

I think you will like it.
Hay like the idea
This looks a little like the model from that Toy Story 3 Lego Train set, were these the same designers that built the Toy Story one?
Cause you watch them.
I MUST HAVE THIS!
great!
I like it
Since this is a review of a Lone Ranger set, you should have used the William Tell Overture for music. But, this music isn't too bad, either.
that is awesome
I found this set at a yard sale and made a video of it. Would you check it out and let me know what you think?
Hello again
Howdy
Don't know.
A day did all of it
Question for you @MASABOUTLEGO: Where did you build the power function into this train? It seems like in the small coal car but you didnt show that part. Do you have a suggestion on how to best implement power functions in this train? Thanks!
He is using 9V, which is from 1999 to 2007, I think.
Amazing!!!
I need it.
9 volt motor
thank u for answering my question but what i wanted to know was if the motor has a button to turn it on and off? or is it a remote control that you are using?

All broken up now.
There sure were a lot of explosives in the 19th century, huh?
eu gosto muito de locomotivas de lego
I'm gonna buy the train set to make the BTTFIII Jules Verne Time Train.
Marty McFly '
Cool!
The train (not the rolling stock) looks like puffy from the grapevine vintage railroad. What do you think? Tell me!
Stick it down
love it
Btw the "coal car" is called a tender
Are there new Lego cowboys sets!?
are you going to be doing Colby city showdown?
my only disappointment is NO CONNECTING RODS!
