Oh Sir. Would that you had not uploaded this item of Ahmad Khan lala inspite of the fact that I had searched it everywhere. There were many memories associated with this song. Every memory is a long story. Many of those friends are no more with us.What a time we have witnessed. We enjoyed every moment of our life. Though we were ever bare booted, yet fully contented. We accompanied devoted, simple and learned friends. I remember and it is me to feel it. These are songs that will remain our friends, These songs will console us and no one else. I still remember that whenever this item of Ahmad Khan lala would broadcast, the announcer would say to listen to the "da amanat badala" in the voice of Ahmad Khan. I think I have not listened this since 1971-72. Million thanks sir.

Sir, Ahmad Khan lala is a real Pashto vocalist.He had excellent taste of Epic Singing which to some extent is close to the Pakhtun temperament. If he is as projected as vocalists of other nations/communities, he will be considered hero of the world music.His up & down in the voice with the same flow of the folk music certainly pierce the hearts. This song is a living painting which exhibits every aspect of Pakhtun gatherings. The poetry, the tappas in the middle of the narration, the simple music of Rabab Mangi and a peculiar tune of Dastan in the middle of the night, all are outstanding and superb. I am enjoying it viz-a-viz your photo.
I read your comments attentively ,Riaz Ali Sahib, because you have aptly described the beauty of this song regarding its tappay , dastan narration, and few musical instruments used here but it is also true that Ahmad Khan 's dominating voice has set the tone for this song . Such is the overbearing influence of his matchless voice that everything fades away under its onslaught. I am happy and thankful to you that you are enjoying it viz-a-viz my photo. i have posted the photograph just to develop a close acquaintance-ship with u tube friends like you. sir ji,thanks for uploading this beautiful ahmed khan badala,i was waiting for it ,I requested riaz ali khan bhai,he said he will try to find it,i have it in cassete,but I gave it 6 years ago to one of kpk ex minister zafar-e-azam, he promised he will return it in two or three days but never return it, thanks sir aap ne meri mushkal hal kar di,ye badala jub radio per on hotha tho log belekul khamosh ur madhosh ho kar sunthy,thanks sir again aap ka ehsan hay hum sub pher,aap khush ur abad rahian izath ur sheath ke saath

This is quintessential Ahmad Khan, his voice does not rise to crescendo rather it touches peak right from the word go and this what distinguishes him from the rest lot.I have watched him perform live in open field as well as in hujra and his voice there , too, thundered. Truly , a great singer. In the given song he is at his brilliant best. It is also one of my favourites----------and a word of caution , never lend a book or cassette ,no body is going to return it. How can we forget the great vocalist Ahmad Khan who had marvelous and individual style of singing, I remember that once he was usually visiting my native town Tank in the north west of Pakistan and I was in my early age in 70s on the festive Urs of Saint Peer Sabir Shah Bukhari, he sang this eternal song.

It got my attention when I heard the first few words: "che pa sro shoondo de okhandal raqeeb ta". A somewhat nostalgic memory swept my head. I was tutoring a girl in math but her younger sister had captured my heart. She was in the ninth grade. It is not that she okhandal raqeeb ta but her my heart was doing yo yo whenever she would join us. In my room I had a blackboard on which I had written in excellent handwriting " nazakat naazaneeno key banaaney sey nahin banti-khuda jab husn deyta hay nazakat aa hi jaatei hay". Later I got a scholarship to a US university and left-never to see her again. Thanks for reminding my cherished passed moments.
What you have described, and gone through , is very enticing, and i believe that everybody after reading your comments would get vicarious pleasure from it , and wittingly or unwittingly a lasting tribute ,too, has been paid to the song and thus to lyricist.
