My go to for firm hold now. Love it. Shear Revival might be to me the best home brew
Ivor brews are better IMO.

I'm really disappointed in the new CL formula it scoops out like a cream now like this one. The stiffer CL was awesome.
JR H is this a reformulation that came at the same time as Gray Ghost?? I loved the more firm feel of the traditional CL
Brent Guy I liked the stiffer version of CL, now the new formula is for loose hairstyles like it's shown in this video. Now CL sits on my shelf without use...not sure when the reformulation occur, but I got mines beginning of the year.
Everything seems to being going that way at the moment...geared towards loose textured looks, creams, etc. I’m not too sure about the latest iteration of Crystal Lake as the last one I got was the Friday the 13th variant last year however.
The Workman’s Pomp yea, the new CL is basically grey ghost, but lighter. Very disappointed in zach for taking that direction. I just hope nostalgic grooming doesn't fallow that direction.

Would this be good for more of a messy, out of bed look with a matte finish? Or you think the paste is better.
I have medium thick medium length hair and like a good strong hold

@@TheWorkmansPomp yes it's really good! As a pre-styler, if you blow-dry it in, with a little pinch, it gives massive volume and thickens the hair and adds great control.
It's a product designed to be used in dry hair I think, or maybe, slightly damp, but I'd say more dry hair. It gives thickness, volume and really fantastic hold.
I haven't used it in damp hair, but in dry hair, it works really really well!
The finish is super natural matte.

Time, split ends, hair damage. But mostly I don’t have the time.
Wow this looks like a low hold greasy mess in damp hair.
