- Every year for 40 years, thousands of bikers make their way to Gotland to participate at what is considered the worlds largest enduro race; Gotland Grand National. Is it doable for someone with NO ENDURO experience to ride this race? Lets find out!
With the support from Husqvarna Motorcycles Scandinavia and MB Racing, I spend 1,5 months practicing for this race on a Husqvarna TE150. Håvard Nevland (@havardnevland7576 ) who won the prologue of Redbull Romaniacs in 2022 has volunteered to be my coach.
All riding in the full length of this video is done on cultivated land, so-called «innmark» with permission from land owners

I can't believe you did all this, hearing you talk about it was def something else and now seeing the footage I totally understand all your feelings. What a journey! I'm so proud of your for pushing through and I hope you keep doing these races alongside the many adventures 😍
Leonoor, the Gotland Grand National is so unlike anything else, but experiencing it and being completely happy with any result, and to keep the expectations low is one of the best ways I would think. No, I haven't been there, but it is one of those races that everyone here (in Sweden) have heard of, or seen mud-covered photos from.
When you're in mud so deep that you don't have to fiddle with the sidestand if you are thrown off (only handle bars and parts of the seat sticking up from the mud) then is the time to laugh and smile. Because what else can you do really.

Thank you for a truly great video experience. As an older guy (72) I still try and ride whenever I get the chance. Your nerves really brought back memories. I rode a Bultaco through a National Forest in Colorado Rockies with 2 friends that were experienced MX racers. I learned so much despite not knowing enough to be afraid of what we were going to ride through. I would love to do that ride again even though it was 50+ years ago.
What an epic experience that must have been, well done! I hope this experience sticks with me just as much in 50 years, as yours has for you 😃
if only we could be young forever. i hope ill be as healthy as you able to get on a dirtbike at 72.
I used to race enduro's when I was younger. Loved them, even won a few trophys. Remember the enduro adage, "When in doubt, open the throttle !"
This is not for women or men!
Enduro is for adventurers, motorcycle lovers, adrenaline junkies, and nature enthusiasts!
I see that you're indeed qualified for enduro! Welcome to the clan, and I believe that once you're here, you'll never leave again! Remember, the winner isn't the fastest but the one who doesn't give up and reaches the end, no matter how many times they fall!
At the end of the day, we all arrive dirty and exhausted, but with a cleansed soul!
But in the end, we are all brothers and sisters!
Hi Runa, all your videos are so well done, but this movie takes your work to a new level, congrats, I just loved it. I’ve never done an enduro race, so it was great to see the prep work that you did and also the race. Kudos to you for pushing your boundaries and competing in that race! I think this video is my favorite, it brought tears to my eyes when you finished. I’m a woman in my 60’s riding a dual sport and I ride forest service roads, nothing like what you were doing. Well done. ❤

Many many many years ago I remember hearing about someone doing GGN on a moped, 6 speed, 4 odd hp and 100 kg or so... speed limited to 45 kmh as per the EU45 regulations.
I always found that fascinating!

The 1st thing a person learns about enduro riding is that 'dignity and grace' evaporate quickly, like super fast, and when you mess up or get it wrong the gap is filled with the laughter, banter and (most importantly) help of the friends/strangers you are riding with.
These friendly and helpful gestures are also of course normally accompanied with a quick unflattering photo or 2 to allow the friendly abuse to continue after the fact and be posted on every electronic forum available to mankind in the known universe😁😂. Thats what makes enduro great and fun.
You accomplished your goal, were surprised at how little you struggled, but you did put as much effort in with the time you had beforehand. Super stoked.

Now to the enduro riding. I'm also an enduro beginner but I ride big ADVs. When you said it's a bit frustrating watching the other riders ride the parts you have struggled on with ease. I feel you. We just have to keep practicing since practice makes perfect.
You are one brave lady Runa, it takes balls to tackle something like that with little experience so bravo👍Watching the pros is just mind blowing, they go over obstacles like they aren't there and the speed is just insane! My older brother did motocross at amateur level and that was fast but the pros are a whole different level😉I learned to ride offroad and it made me such a better rider on the road, this will help you so much👍Awesome video Runa👌

Great video, really enjoyed it. I did not read through all the comments, I am sure this has been mentioned before…but…next time you take on such a challenge, please make sure they give you proper gear. You need a motocross style helmet, most important motocross boots (Alpinestars tech 7, 10 etc). motocross pants (Alpinestars, Fox, Klim etc.), proper shirt, kidney belt, goggles, gloves, etc. knee protection is a must as well. Great job

Well done ....
