Thanks for the vid. just picked up a 86...in great shape. Yours is surely funny...beat up a little and with that seat, hole etc. Beautifully simple in its original state. Man, having a lot of fun the last 2 days. It is a fun scooter. had one in the early 90s (for work) and loved it. glad to get it again. researching stats...I believe the tank is .66 gallons and from what I read, it gets about 35 miles to that tank I might have to make a vid. That seat makes it look like crap.
I have a 1984 Honda spree and it has a kickstart but it hasn't ran in many years and I traded it for something on craigslist and I got it running with some starting fluid it's pretty cool.
Was the second ignition drilled into the side actually wired up when you bought it?! Noticed it was just an empty hole in the vid but curious if you saw how it was wired and if it bypassed some of the other electrical components. I’ve seen A LOT of sprees with plenty of key/ignition issues but this is a first for sure. 👍
Ahh that is a good question, it was so long ago. I do not think it was bypassed since when the battery was connected the real tail light would come on no matter what. Still have this bike, but it is in storage on the other side of the country
Great Vid. I've been looking at these recently on craigslist as a little neighborhood cruiser and have noticed some say oil/gas mix 2 stroke.. do these use normal regular gas?
+william castle All Honda Spree scooters are two stroke, but feature oil injection so you can fill it at the pump without premixing, you just have to keep the oil souvenir filled which is easy since it consumes very little at a time.
Dude I think I found this exact scooter on Craig's list is looks like it has the same amount of rust on the exhaust and the lil hole where the second ignition was and the smiley face on the head light you wouldn't happen to be located in central pa would you lol? If so that's crazy I saw the add first and came across your cid while watching some of your other vids about the puch maxi bec I'm looking into buying one
Yep, the Spree is priced on the higher end because I secretly want to keep it and take it with me when I move out West in about a week. MLM makes a Spree pipe for it which is exciting or I saw someone out who bolted in a motor from a Honda Aero 50 which actually has a variates that moves and has way more aftermarket parts.
My mom is going to email you my cell number so we can talk about your scooters I don't know if I want the maxi if you have any faster ones bec It be nice to be able to do over 30 but I need one with a title to make fully road legal but just shoot me a text once my mom emails you my number and well talk about it lol
We have one stored in our basement without a battery and key... I wish my dad could find the keys so I can try and get it working so I can sell it haha.

I was 14 in 1986 and had a moped but would ride to the honda shop to look at the spree! lol
To this day I still love riding a Honda Spree!
You are getting quite a collection there :-)

I think I remember that you are in Oregon somewhere? if that is correct do you ever fix up other peoples scoots?

@@TravisTutorial If not mistaken they require premium gas. Or at least it is highly recomended.
the Honda dealer in town has a 88 three wheel spree in like mint shape. way cool
+Evan Patterson That'd be the Honda Gyro!

Another good thing is that they're fan cooled.

CoolDad I'm in Vegas if you're interested in selling it for a fair price let me know 7026046561
Try hotwiring the wires behind the key slot!
Your kick start spring should return on it's own. White lithium grease or replace the spring or you will end up wearing down your kick start spindle.
You said honda
thats alot of bearing noise
