I love how you slowly zoomed over pieces in the daylight!!! You get to see everything. Most people film their villages at night and all you see are mini lights.
Yours is the very best display I have ever seen on RUclips. I watched it three times today and saw how it was sectioned - well, to me, anyway - and I liked your witch section the best. Your ground and its cover - both the raised rock walkway and the flat walkway - were just perfect to me. I liked the gray base color and the fact you used it throughout. I also liked the different heights you used for different buildings. Your "rock walls" were very impressive, as well. Thank you for the hard work and artistic design you have shared with us on RUclips.
Thanks Julie! Yes, I try to separate my village in sections, the Trick or Treat street, the witch section, and then I have 2 town sections. I really like those Dept 56 slate stone paths too, I use them both at Halloween and Christmas. The first base I made I carved hundreds of little cobblestones and painting them all different colors took forever so when I did the other 3 bases I decided to make it simple and just distress paint them with gray, black and green. Most of my ideas I got off the internet so I really can't take any artistic credit but I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks for the info. I am still trying to figure out what to make my base out of - I am trying to figure it out. I will be viewing your display again and thanks for the information.
This is fabulous!! It has right amount of touches without being overly busy! I love how it's is more organized instead of just a mixed mess! Well done! Thanks for sharing!!
great halloween village! i think its the best on RUclips so far, and watched and showed it several times to other spooky town friends. im inspirated by yours,, hope to see more in 2016. greets from a big fan in the Netherlands. here its getting more and more populair! thanks for sharing.
I love your set up! It’s really nice , I love how you detailed the places and areas with the characters and it’s so cool! I love it! My favorite part was the cemetery and the roads with cobble, it’s cute
I love everything about this so much. I'm new to the figurine collecting, and I gotta say that the trees, sounds, and motions really make this come to life! Great camera work too! Some people just gloss over the display from over head, but I actually felt like I was there in the moment. The only thing that I could suggest to make this better is to find some sort of table cloth (or whatever) to mimic fallen leaves between the display pieces.
I certainly know a thing or two about being obsessive....if one is good, 15 just gotta be better!!! My mantra. I have over 30 linear feet, with some parts two tables deep and a couple of layers high. I am scrambling to get it up this year as family obligations have taken up my time and space. You do a great job and I enjoyed looking at it, again. :)
Very nice! I wish I had the money to do something as extravagant as yours. I have a few Dept 56 things. I love mostly Frankenstein’s Creature. Well done and great work!
I love this! I would love to create this same town someday but I would add a photographer's background canvas to the walls to give even more atmosphere. Aliexpress sells them for about $25 per cloth and they have haunted backdrops which would work nicely. Great display!!
fantastic collection!!! love every moment! can I ask tho at 4:13 of the video you show a big house on a hill...just curious what that piece is called and from what company it looks amazing!! wish I could see a better look of it. this is by far the best RUclips collection of Halloween village houses on RUclips. please get back to me if possible thanks!!
Thank you for sharing your awesome Halloween layout with us!!! So very creative with such an outstanding base!!!! I read through the other comments first so that I didn't ask you a question you may have already answered. (I do believe you answered them all!) I really enjoyed my visit in your Halloween community. 💖💖💖💖💖☠☠☠☠😎👍🏻
What is the name of the skeleton railroad track at 3:20 in the video? I have never seen anything like it! Do you remember where and when you bought it? Thank you so much for sharing this it's truly amazing to watch
Thanks! That piece is made by Dept 56 and it's called the Haunted Coal Car. It's an older retired piece so you have to get lucky and find one on eBay or used somewhere.
I'm currently putting it together this year so I'll let you know when I'm done. So far about 15 hours and I have one more table to set up and then I go back and do all the trees, fences, people, moss, etc. (non-electrical items).
I love your village! I have been building mine up for a few years now. You have a small cauldron piece at 2:08 in the video, it appears to light up with a skull and bone in it. I would love to know who makes that piece👻
Good Morning Mr. Helstowski. I think I have made a previous comment on your Halloween Village Display. I have watched it at least ten times and have three questions for you, if you don't mind. First - where did you get the "haunted tree" that is eating someone? All you can see is somebody's legs hanging out of it. I really like that one. All your trees look great. The second question I have is - what is your base made of? Is it tile, wood or plastic? I love the color gray, and I have seen some rock walkways and paths. Did you make those, too? If so, could you please tell me how or point me in the right direction to learn how to do that? Your Halloween Village Display is the best one I have ever seen, and I hope to use some of your display for inspiration for my display, which I will be putting out very soon. Thank you for your help - Julie
That tree is made by Lemax and is called Trick or Treater Eating Tree. The base is made out of 2 inch Styrofoam that I bought at the hardware store and the gray is actually just craft paint from Wal-Mart. -Christy
Thank you for answering so quickly and at a such opportune time. I am just setting my village up and your information is very welcome. I will search for the tree. Thank you very much - again!!
Simply amazing!! the best I have ever seen any were.how long have you been collecting for to get all of this? and what do you like better , Lemax or Dept 56 ? think this is really awesome!
Thanks! I started collecting in 2012 and had purchased most of it by 2015 or 2016. I’ve kind of run out of room so I’ve only purchased about 1 building a year since then and nothing this year. I prefer Dept 56 and will probably only add to Trick or Treat Lane or the witch series unless something really speaks to me. I’d like to redo some of my platforms next year.
Love your display! My wife and I have been collecting village pieces for several years. We do have a question about two buildings in your collection. 1. What is the name of the house that appears at the beginning at about the 12-second mark? It's a Victorian style house with a ghost in front. Is it a Department 56 piece or a Lemax piece? 2. At the very end at about the 7:43 mark, there is a piece that looks like it might be a mausoleum. It has lighted oval window or emblem on the top. What is its name and is it Department 56 or Lemax? Thank you very much.
The house at the 12-second mark is Mordecai Mansion by Dept 56. I love the soundtrack of that building also. The mausoleum towards the end is a Dept 56 piece also called Walter and Larry's crypt. That piece I know is retired and hard to find at a decent price.
Still my favorite spookytown. Just how long does it take to put away afterwards. Last year it took my wife and I about 2 hours to box up like 7 buildings.
@@christinahelstowski6805 2 days! Wow. I fear for all the small pieces that break in the process. 1 have now 17 buildings and im already worried about the time its going to take to pack up. Good luck.
Wear the heck do you hide the cords and how do you plug so many in? I feel totally inadequate with me 4 houses lol. Putting thsi away must be a nightmare! lol
Cords!!! My least favorite part of putting the whole thing together! I cut holes in the foam under every building and for some accessories (some are close enough to the building that I just use the hole under the building). The foam is off the table on 2x4s so those stupid battery boxes and all the cords can run underneath. I pin skirts of fabric to the foam made out of Halloween fabric to hide the gap from having the foam up on the 2x4s. Then at the back of every table I zip tie 2 of those 4 feet long extension strips that have 12 outlets each, I like those because the outlets are spaced far enough apart for the transformers. Believe it or not the whole village is only plugged into 3 outlets which I turn on with one of those little remotes! And yes, putting it away is a nightmare. I think it took me about 14 hours last year. I try to get it done by Thanksgiving because then it starts all over with Christmas!
Those adapter things help a lot. Do you have Lemax or Dept 56? Dept 56 only has 1 style of adapter and Lemax has 2, one that fits older accessories and one that fits new accessories.
Inferno Satx I bought my first pieces in 2012 and have only bought a few pieces in the last 3 years so I did a lot of collecting between 2012 and 2016! We do a lot of decorating outside too. I believe we have 2 videos posted of our outdoor decorations.
I have the sound on on a couple of buildings-Dept 56 Grimsly Manor, Dept 56 Mordecai Mansion, Dept 56 Rickety Railroad, and Lemax Dr. Tingles Laboratory.

I enjoyed touring your village. Looks like you have been collecting for a while....good job and thanks for sharing.
Thanks Marlene. Actually I have only been collecting for 3 years, I'm just obsessive : )

Thanks Jan! I agree, a backdrop would add a nice atmosphere. Something I keep meaning to do but never get around to for some reason.
This is epic! Wow what an investment in your time, money and creative hobby!
I will thumbs up 👍🏼 and watch multiple times.

So awesome!
We've posted about our small Spooky Town collection as well today.
We haven't got so much yet, but we love it.
Greetings from Holland! :-)
This is amazing! I love it!
THIS IS AMAZING!! Totally jealous. I have something to aspire to, much to my husband's annoyance I am sure.

That little cauldron is a really old Lemax piece.
Shannon Waitekus it should say on the bottom? This witch wants to know also.
Shannon Waitekus it’s called Bubble Bubble by Lemax, it retired in 2011.

Pam Shearer it’s called Cooking up a Ghoul by Lemax.
