Great looking setup. Love the tip about putting the bottles upside down in freezing temps... never would have thought of that. But then again, I'm not much of a cold weather person either... Love the gimbal as well.... I was looking at those just the other day! Thinking of a setup similar to yours (I already have a chest harness mount as well as handlebar & fork mounts)
Thanks yeah Gimbal is cool i was going to get the 360 fly camera but decide on the gimbal as the 360 video quality is not gear .. thanks for watching ... i look forward see your setup up on youtube as there not many out there...
Solo Bikepacker Thanks for responding. Mine gear setup is a little different than most because I carry a lot of camera stuff on board - gotta get those great shots!!!!
Great to see the set up. Lots of thought gone into that from your experience. Love the GoPro Gimball, though with much more advanced internal stabilisation now you probably done need it any more..
not sure what direction my videos our going, now i finish and happy with my gear and setup yeah sure i do a over nighter on monday and bring the camera ... what you think of here it about 55km from where i am now english.vietnamnet.vn/fms/vietnam-in-photos/57992/the-peak-of-hon-ba-mountain.html let me know a do video
I normally feel like people talk too much but I can listen to you talk all day! You really should be getting paid for this I'm going to subscribe your page
sortedtales yeah when I put it on the plane the pack wieght was 25 kg with packing and box so think it come about 22kgs total but just put a new setup and total wieght is 15 kg
Holy crap that thing looks cool as hell. I have always just rode with my pack on my back but I bet that's more balanced. I just don't like to put things on my bike.
yeah I don't like putting thing on my back feel it when breathing harder going up hills... but like it on the bike really balanced ... thanks for the comments
Solo Bikepacker now that sounds like it would be a fun trip lol. I've always wanted to travel around the world an buy a used bike in every country an mail it home. By the time you got back you would have an awesome collection of rare bikes I bet.
Great set up. Comparable to Final Frontier. Appreciated the info at the end how you support this mad addiction, sorry, hobby! Where do your elbows rest when you're on the baryak bar ends?
very true thats why soon as i arrive and camp i open up the sleeping bag . but also once every few months i wash the sleeping bag and put it in the dry with few tennis balls brings it back to life
thanks the gear has come along way since that video will post a new 3 season setup great for weekends and 3 season touring .. i post it next weekend once back from bikepacking and pack rafting adventure in vietnam
I think you're going for a particular look, and I get that. But if you were to get a bontrager rear rack you could tie down a 40 liter backpack on the back and put pretty much all of your gear in that. By having the backpack strap to the rear rack you won't really be sacrificing much of your minimalist look, and you won't have to put so much thought into how you pack things away
Zst Nn You’re right but then all of the weight is on the rear. Having bags mounted throughout your bike allows for a better weight distribution which means a more stable ride.
Dude, get a rear rack. Blackburn make one. Put panniers on it. Ortlieb make them. Repeat for the front. Get a Carradice saddlebag or something similar. You'll end up with five bags and twice as much capacity. You'll be able to load/unload your bike in two minutes rather than struggling with lots of tiny bags. I know it's not hipster, but it works far better than what you have there.
why I need twice as much capacity .. why i need pannier. pannier is so old fashion rattling breaks only take me 30 sec to pull out my gear why would want spend 2 mins my seat more comfortable why go for less comfort. this works fine specially on single track trails pannier wouldn't make it on the trails i go on and would need a steel bike which would be so heavy .. not my idea of a trip
@@Bikepacking So you leave all your bags on your bike all the time? Even when you're in your tent? I wouldn't do it that way, but OK then. Don't know what it has to do with the seat. As for capacity, I see you have so many bags, all stuffed full, it looks like capacity is an issue for you. BTW - my Ortlieb bags are over twenty years old, have been used all that time for shopping, load carrying and on/offroad riding and touring, and absolutely nothing has ever broken. Nor do they rattle. But it's all up to you , obviously. Good luck.
I watched a lot of bicycle touring videos before i decided on fat bike , seen so many people pushing there bike through the mud or sand or walking there bike through the snow .... with these tires i can ride over anything and being carbon wheels and frame the bike is extreme light . my bike is only 10 kgs with gear the bike coming in at 18kgs most touring bikes start at 18 kgs and with gear there well over 45 kgs .. so going up hill for me is easier than using traditional setup ....
Solo Bikepacker cool mate! Sorry i didnt get the weight conclusion what's exactly. total weight of ur bike in kgs? And separately the bike and gear? Also how much did the bike cost a d then all the luggage that when on it?
The 3 season setup is coming in at 18 kgs including bike and gear ... the bike is about 10 kgs on it own.... price of gear and bike here ruclips.net/video/kDT8X-8dWMc/видео.html the bike little more expensive than you dirt bike
i changed my setup since that video lighter and better packing setup add me on Facebook if you got any question about getting your bike setup i think i could set this up now for half the price including shipping to thailand facebook.com/mark.steenson

How do you pack your packraft to your bike ?
Great video thank you
Great set up. Comparable to Final Frontier. Appreciated the info at the end how you support this mad addiction, sorry, hobby!
Where do your elbows rest when you're on the baryak bar ends?
money come money goes
100% true & if it goes on bike parts you can see where it's gone.
yeah trust me better to go on bike parts .. if it didnt it would been spent on hookers and beer and the rest i would just waste lol
Keeping goose down compressed for long periods of time can immensely reduce it's insulation value.
very true thats why soon as i arrive and camp i open up the sleeping bag . but also once every few months i wash the sleeping bag and put it in the dry with few tennis balls brings it back to life
Make it yourself thanks to woodprix plans. I think it's the best way to learn how to build it in the cheapest way.
Pretty awesome setup! Great organization! Love the idea of the Fatty.
thanks the gear has come along way since that video will post a new 3 season setup great for weekends and 3 season touring .. i post it next weekend once back from bikepacking and pack rafting adventure in vietnam

For sure bikepacking is more stable
less is more in bikepacking
i"m ok!
Ok video
I learnt a lot since that video..
M'kay
tired of the backpack thing myself.looking to go "FAT" next.
J Brand yeah that's how I got into it and can go further
