Nice restoration. Did you put the knob in the linseed oil to recondition the wood? The proof of a good restoration is how the plane performs. Show a few minutes at the end of the video, to show how the plane shaves wood!! or a video how to set up the block plane would be better!! Thanks for the video.
Acid is not good for the metal of your plane it will just rust again, it's better to just sand down the plane to take the rust off, watch Paul Sellers on restoring planes.

your plane will never properly be flat sanding it like thatoneply wood .
