Probably watched every single video on this ER-5 playlist since I decided to rebuild my bike. Really appreciate the videos by the way! But.. I’ve just found mayo on most of the clutch plate (left half), the right side seems to be coolant. I changed both the water and clutch gasket for new, is it possible for the coolant to have gone through two gaskets like that??
I can’t be certain that I did. I’ve ordered some new ones so will try that first. It’s not the head gasket that’s gone is it? I’ve checked the oil separator and that looked fine..
You should take yourself off down the local pound shop and get some brake cleaner. Great for cleaning crap off and some stuff called elbow grease from semichem ( yellow shit . Comes in a trigger bottle with a yellow trigger. ) . Great shit. I've been using it for years ..🤘🤘
You saved the impeller Matt but how did you replace the shaft.....I understand the broken thread comes as part of a fitting which screws into the balance shaft but how did you get the broken part of the fitting out of the balance shaft?...cheers.
интересный способ вынимать обломок!
I’ve still got a set of easy outs somewhere in the shed.
Leave them there, better still bin them.

No, probably a leak - did you put sealant on the water pump gasket like in the manual?

If this after starting the engine after a rebuild or before?
So I rebuilt the engine about 4 months ago but have only just noticed the mayo now
Do you have pictures? Because it is winter. where has the bike been kept during those 4 months?
How do you remove the shaft from the engine side? Is it 8mm spanner anticlockwise or did you have to open the engine casing? Thanks
You can just remove the cover
I loved my er5 but it seems a cbt isn't good enough for it aha
Sometimes it's worthwhile spending time to sort out an issue, instead of rushing....forward.........
+ROY Dean just happy I managed to save the impeller.

Nice one
+sk8er131000 cheers dude, thanks for the comment
How did you remove the shaft? Same problem here :'(
Problem is what way? You have to lock the crank rotation first
